Should I do it??

Fellas, thinking about trading in my 2005 Cadillac CTS-V 2005 with 13,000 miles. The dealer has a SRT8 black 2006 with 1,300 miles. He wants my car and $2,000 what do you'll think??

I really liked the CTSV however it seems you can do much more with the SRT8 with aftermarket wheels-body kits- that can't be done with the V.

What are the options aftermarket for the SRT that would be advised with a
budget of 10k.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Welcome Mr. Boombah
Well obviously you know you’re going to be told…..overwhelmingly….buy the SRT8 and don’t look back. Considering this is an SRT8 forum.

I got rid of my Lincoln LS for the 5.7 since the 6.1 wasn’t being made yet. Then waited forever for the 6.1. Best decision I ever made. As for mods it just depends on what areas you want to “try” and improve with the SRT8. Obviously a super charger would be up there. You’ve got heads, exhaust, wheels, and suspension. You name it. How much stock do you want to retain. There are tons of posts on every mod mentioned and then some. Good luck with your decision and go for it.

1) Oh yeah... SRT!

2) As for the 10K, first decide looks or function (which is more important) and go from there. Function, supercharger is wicked from what I've seen and a turbo is in testing.... hopefully a superchips tune soon too would be nice!

Get the SRT8.

As far as the mods go, I wouldn't change a thing, other than maybe a wood kit and aftermarket audio system. The SRT engineers have struck a good balance of performance and ride comfort. Using larger diameter wheels can have a negative impact on performance. If you are into looks, and don't care if your performance may be degraded, you could put some larger (more attractive, subjectively anyway) wheels on it. [Please no flames for this recommendation - I would recommend an extra set of wheels/snow tires for winter driving, if you live in an area with bad winter weather.]

Other more serious mods such as a supercharger or turbo kit and all of the other related mods required for the powertrain will likely cost you much more than 10K, in the long run. Sure, the supercharger and turbo kits can be had for about 6 grand, but you can't simply bolt one on to your otherwise stock vehicle, unless you don't care about durability. I would want a package that includes, at a minimum, the supercharger kit (with proper tuning of course), a more durable transmission, and a heavy duty rear end. There are probably other things you would need as well.

I have a been a GM man since birth. This is my first Chrysler to ever own. It won't be my last. Dump the caddy, ASAP, and get yourself behind the wheel of an SRT. Then you will be the newest member to the DARK SIDE, that is SRT.

Don't delay, go get your SRT today. You will thank us later.

CADDY AIN'T GOT NOTHING LIKE THIS, YEAH BABY!!!!!
