http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-new...n-ar10623.html

Chrysler is going to build the production version of the Dodge Challenger coupe that debuted as concept car in January at the Detroit auto show.
The Challenger concept is powered by a 425-horsepower V8 engine. The production version will be build off the same basic chassis as its rear-drive Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger.
The new Challenger will go on production starting 2008, with a price slightly above that of the current mustang. Only a V8 will be offered.

I thought that was common knowledge and the issue was going to be that it’s weight was some what higher that the current SRT?

I usually don't pray, but here it goes,

Dear Lord,
Please have DCX build the new challenger - please have an SRT-8 model available - and please......

MAKE IT PLUM PURPLE WITH A BLACK SHAKER HOOD!!!!

Now that doesn't sound like too much to ask does it?

Oh that purple color…………just does it for me. Funny, nowadays if you told someone you were going to get a purple or orange car they would look at you like you’re crazy. But on this beast it evokes a past that just sends chills down the spine. May all our prayers be granted oh lord!

Thanks for the great pics Mr. DJ!!

Let's hope the new Challenger will be offered with an option for the good autostick as well as the 6-speed manual. Most of us won't have the skill to launch and shift well enough to keep up with the competition if all we can get is the 6-speed and we have SRT-8 torque to contend with.

I like the hugger orange one best, but plum crazy is fine looking too!
