Freaked Out!!

I was searching these here forums, and was trying to find out what people's experience was with regard to the 1/4 mile times and trap speeds of 300c SRT-8's. I found a thread that had some talk about what different cars people have outrun. On this thread they of course talked about different 1/4 mile times for cars they have run, and the cars they drive. I ASSUMED that they were driving SRT-8's, so when they talked about the 1/4 mile times and 0-60 times, I freaked out. Not with a gun, nor with and chickens or weed eaters. I just tensed, and was afraid that I had just bought a car that was a second slower in the 1/4 than I had thought. "That was a lot of money for a car that fast, or not quite". Dont get me wrong, the times were quick, just not what I expected. Of course, they were talking about 300's without the 6.1 liter motors. I know, I am a goobersmooch.
What kind of 1/4 mile times have you guys experienced with 300C SRT-8's?

Welcome! With a little more searching you'll find the "good drivers" were running mid-high 12's.

yes its been interesting gathering that kinda of info on these cars I have seen 14.0 to 12.9 in the 1/4 WOW huge difference.
Then you gotta wonder about mods?
Track temp etc. Lots of variables including Mileage and if it has met the 6k mile 400 horsepower increase LOL

12.9 at 111.5 mph. The colder the better. Recently, even on 80+ degree days, I have managed in the 13.2's at about 107 mph. For referrence: my times in 80+ degree temps were better than 3 out of 3 Vipers at the strip at the same time. These cars rock!

13.5 with 22" and 30 series tires, lol. In the Houston, summer time, humid heat. I will throw some oem 20" with higher side walls back on and run in a month or so.

We did have a 5.7L Charger out with us as well. He had a 75 shot of nitrous (bascially winter temp's in his intake) LOL. Not one heat soaked SRT could touch him. I think the fastest he ran that night was a 12.7. Gotta love Nitorus power, esp. in the heat of Houton's summer's. Not bad for a 5.7L

I can't wait to run when it is winter temp's here. In the 12's for sure. Hopefully by then software will be out and we can better manage the 6.1.

Tune?

oh, for some tuning! Just a small timing increase!

Or a 38-40 degree winter night at near sea level with low humidity and no wind!

I finally have my software! Happy Diablo owner.

My Favorite "old car"... 73 Super Duty 455 Trans Am - 13.08 @109 mph when brand new! Just try and find one now!

A football player for the Atlanta Falcons (go birds!!!) just bought a 300CSRT-8 and was supposed to meet me at a racetrack to settle who the better driver was.. I had a housewarming party which needed my attention..NOT. I did have to attend the damned party, but it would've been fine without me. I woulda loved to have had the opportunity to whip the linebackers ass. I learned he had one through a Wide Reciever from the Falcons, next to whom I was sitting in a "Celebrity" charity poker event. This wide reciever was a car guy, I guess. He has a C-5 with a twin tubo ls2 making 750 at the wheels. That is big boy power.
