so I am tooling along a local highway today...
literally just getting on the freeway...
when along comes a new lotus elise at...
I don't know...
95-110...
with logos all over the car...
HUH?
so I am stuck behind cars...
when the Porsche Boxster goes blowing by...
ok...
patience...
don't cut anyone off...
(after hammering low limitz)...
opening...
I'm in!
tally ho...
reel in the boxster quickly...
the elise is really running...
and had a lot of asphalt between us...
reeled him next...
hmmm both cars are sporting logos...
hmmm they are sporting the same exact logos...
slid back behind the elise and notice the bullrun.com sticker...
this has gota to be a gumball rally situation...
and I figure to shoe the boys a little San Diego hospitality and lead the way...
and show them the "path"...
when in my rear view I see a Ferrari 575 coming hard...
I pick up the pace...
still coming...
leaving the boxster a while ago...
leaving the Elise...
and just the Ferrari and I now...
only hitting it in open traffic...
but when it got open we were touching the old speed limit + a c note...
and I was pulling every time...
at first thinking I was smoking him...
then realizing he has been doing this for 7 days across the country from NY...
so he had some miles under him and more to do...
so things are getting close to where I need to get off the freeway...
when the Z06 pulls up from out of nowhere...
if the CHP had these...
no one would ever know they were there...
literally...
and we run...
and run hard...
man that car pulls...
I was able to lead the way still showing local knowledge and courtesy...
all the time thinking...
THIS IS WHAT I NEED TO DO!!!
across the whole country!!!
at least once...
so I get off the freeway...
and get thumbs up from each car...
get em' boyz!
thanks for letting me "participate"...
it was a pleasure to "show you the way"...

immediately after I call 2 people...
fatchance and my running partner DanRealtor...
fats comments - so when he passed you (the Elise) it was game on...
they had no idea they had awaken one among their ranks...

That was a great story! Man, what are the chances of hopping on the f-way just in enough time to cruise with some fun runners from the bull run. Way to go CB! I’m sure they were like…WTF…the family sedan is doing what! ? I’m sure they will remember the hospitality shown to them by the SD branch of the dark side!

all he said was...
they must have been like this is the LAST guy we should have passed!
if I didn't have to pick my daughter up...
I was in for as long as the fuel held out...

I think it ended somewhere in LA, but I'm sure CB would have followed regardless of where it ended if it weren't for his appointment!

well, I am now a honorary particpant of the bullrun.com rally...
well, you better get your bullrun arse home within 12 hours or plan on sleeping in your car...

and that's how it would have sounded...
drive to Denver and flight home...
can always pick up the car later...
