Quick vid of my exhaust at last Friday's NOVA Car Meet. This is Airaid, Dynatech SuperMaxx LT Headers with high flow cats and the 5.7 CORSA cat-back. Not a full range of sounds and the sound in park isn't NEARLY as powerful as when in Drive, but it's something!
Now THAT gave me goosebumps and makes me want to go buy that setup right now! Awesome job man.....i'm speechless.
Thanks, man! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sound! My MPG is suffering because I just LOVE the sound. I'll have to try to get a clip of her under power. You think THIS sounds good?.....The difference driving is just freaking inspirational! And yet when I back off the throttle when cruising past the nice Mr. Officer, a church, or a funeral it's nothing more than a quiet big ol 4 door seday quietly sneaking by...

Almost brings a tear to my eye....sniff sniff....
I am strongly leaning towards ur awesome setup. My biggest issue with the Corsa is that i think the tips are too plain. Are those the stock tips because they shine like chrome. I'm really into the rolled long tube chrome tips but if i HAD to keep em i prob would. Lookin at the exhaust would it be easy to swap out the tips? Do you think there would be any trouble keeping the tips even?...cuz i'm a perfectionist! Thanks and Awesome!

Those ARE the stock tips, yep they're chromed and the whole system was a breeze to install! The tips are welded to the resonators. You would have to cut and reweld, but I like mine. I guess it could be done. The TORCA clamps are awesome and you just line everything up before torquing the clamps down. Everything lined up first try and this whole thing was engineered to perfection, making it a breeze to install.

Sweet sounds good. So in what order did you have ur intake, headers, and cats put on? If at different times can u tell me the difference each made to the sound before u had em all if possible. Thanks!

Sure. First was intake silencer removal and drop in K&N. Negligible gains, but sounded nicer.
Next was headers on the stock exhaust and MAN-OH-MAN! Low end torque dropped off a little and shifted to MID-HIGH range. She had LOADS of power at top end. She sounded a little more agressive, you could def hear the more metallic sound of the headers, but the stock exhaust took care of most of the rest. No prob taking an any stock 5.7!!
After that came the CORSA. This was the final uncorking of the exhaust and OH MY GOD...the sound is just amazing!! Sounds lust a little more than stock when idling; cruising has a nice rumble; MDS has no drone, but you can def hear the difference and can tell when in 4 cyl mode; and lastly WOT was just a screaming BEAST and sounds like open pipes!!!
I didn't think it could get any better until I installed the Airaid! Now? I can take off normally from a light with a nice throaty rumble or go WOT and she sounds like I'm at the strip! The Airaid was the final step in getting the exact sound I love. What good is having a free-flowing exhaust if your intake is restricted?
Remember that CORSA's have NO PACKING to burn-in or change tone! It's all done with tuning and when at WOT, it's just like having straight pipes.
Did everything myself. On my car I give the best warranty work. If I screw it up, I guarantee that I have to fix it! LOL...
Now I know it's no SRT8, but just for $hits & giggles I would LOVE to go head to head with an SRT8 just to see how I fare. All in good fun...
I went with the Kooks long tubes and catted pipes and The Zoomers exhaust.
I do not have an audio file to let you hear it. I am not that technologically advanced. I know cars, but not computers, gadgets, etc.
If you want to know of how loud it is, just ask Fatchance, Scarbs and VVV90. At Spring Fling Fatchance must have had me crank up the Bird about 10 times. I was all smiles for that. Scarbs and VVV90 got caught behind the Bird at a few lights. They were all smiles when we got to MADE Autosports for the car wash. The Charger race car was on hand at SF as well and was running the Corsa set up. I was impressed with the sound, but it didn't come close to the Bird's sound. FreebirdSRT is not a daily driver though. With the addition of the headers and cats, I did get some interior resonance (drone) but not bad if it was daily driver. SRT II will be a daily driver, so I am going to go with the quieter Corsa system. That is unless I hear that SLP engineering will make the headers, and exhaust for the 6.1, like they are getting ready to release for the 5.7's. That is what SRT II will get if SLP announces they are making for 6.1 as well.
The exhaust cut-outs are far down on the mod list for Freebird, but will be done. Mostly for the 1/4 mile track and to scare the *&*%$$##$% out of unsuspecting people, on the street . I am going to install the QTP cut-outs that are electronically activated from inside, on the fly.

So whats the difference you think in why the airaid made it louder? is the k&n drop in just a replacement? and the airaid is open cone? hhhmmm?
oh and did you gain a little low end back with the airaid or not enough to notice?
HOOK UP THE SOUNDS FB!!!

FireMedic, I would say that as we found out at GIFO 1 (The MOTHER of all GIFO's) that with stock exhaust, the stock intake was the perfect match and actually flowed BETTER than some CAI's under certain conditions. Yes, the K&N was a drop in stock replacement and between that and removing the silencer, it sounded much better than stock.
Buuuut.....
With a free flowing exhaust, I certainly feel a difference in adding the CAI. Not dyno tested, but there it is. It makes sense...open up the exhaust, the intake wants to flow more. The sound from any CAI is much better because you hear the intake pulses also. That's what we used to hear through the old 4 barrel carbueretors resonating against the air cleaner lid. I personally really like the Airaid, as it has a deeper sound. Maybe because the tube is plastic, but now the whole car just screams! The cone filter init is freaking HUGE and tha latest GIFO showed that a bigger filter is the best way to get any gains from your intake. Not sure about the low end gains, haven't tried anything lately to test. Maybe soon...

Like you did this poor girl at the Spring Fling…..shameful!
Freebird we’re going to have to give you some technology lessons so we can hear the mighty bird for ourselves. I’ll be sure to wear my Depends though.
Bob your car sounds amazing……thanks for the clip.
