Angry Rear-ended

So I am chilling riding around showing all the spectators my new BLUE Halo's.

I pull up to a crosswalk and there is an old man admiring, and walking slowly past the front of my car...

Disclaimer: Eastern Europeans do not heed traffic laws...

Guy pulls up behind me. WAY TOO CLOSE... Then desides the old guy is walking too slowly through the cross walk. So he wants to pull around me and blow the crosswalk... NO DICE. Bastard hits me.

Now... the bumper would have only sustained a minimal damage... nothing too bad... however the guy has one of those tow rope loops on the front of his car jutting out . put a hole in the plastic of my bumper. It's about an inch square.

I jump out and was about to kill the guy when I remember I am in Bulgaria, and not in my own country where anyone can be a gun weilding maniac .

I call the cops . they show up 2 hours later . Just my luck is that he does not have international insurance , but the local stuff . so I have to get it fixed on my end, and have them bill it back to their insurance .

Now the day started off good, and turned south. Needless to say that I was in a drunken stupor the rest of the weekend.

Anyone know where I can get the code for silver steel paint? and the cheapest rear facia? I was looking at Wyckoff... But dunno if they offer to paint them.

Will have pics later...

That sucks Abizmal !!! I am not to good at linking s**t here but I remembered an old post about paint codes and did a search. If you put paint in search bar (about page 5) there is a post from lukeinva about a website www.automotivetouchup.com that has the codes and carries paint. It also says your code is on the door sticker . PNT(and then the code). Try buy/sell for the rear bumper or maybe upgrade to a unique one from one of these custom kit venders on here(probably cheaper than OEM anyway).Good luck and sorry to hear about your misfortune.Way to keep your cool on foreign soil. This would have been a problem for me unless the guy was reeeeeal apologetic.Take care , Mike .

Ahbizmal,

Hello, This is Brian Carotenuto, I did some research for you. The paint code for Silver Steel Metallic is DA4. You can look it up on www.paintscratch.com and type in your information on the car. I hope this helps.

By the way, I was in your shoes last year. I was rearended at a traffic light over the Memorial Day weekend. You can see the damage to mine after the accident under the posting "My 300 was hit over the Memorial Day Weekend" The damage to mine was $1240. in US dollars. The damage looked minor, but there was some underlying damage underneath the plastic bumper cover. The underlying damage was the trunk panel (The part that the bumper bar is attached to. I feel your pain and hope that the car gets fixed soon.

Sincerely yours,

Brian T. Carotenuto

That's bad stuff. I hope you can get your ride back into shape fast and it looks like the day you bought it.

I think the paint code is on the car somewhere. Try the door jams...it will be on a factory sticker.

Good luck!

Your paint code should also be on your driver's door sticker, but I forget what the preceeding code symbols are. IIRC it is on the lower left before or after the MDH code (Month Day Hour of manufacture)

Sorry to read of your mishap. Damn those people don’t have much going on in the area of civility it would seem. Hope you’re able to get things fixed up by a reputable establishment and you’re baby becomes as good as new. Good luck!

thanks all...

I will go and look at the door jam today and see if I have the paint code there. But I think I remember someone saying before this thread that it was DA4, thanks again gossame1.

Hopefully there is not too much damage to the underlying structure in the trunk.

My 300 was hit this morning-back bumper fascia cracked

That looked bad. I didn't have that much damage... I would have been more pissed at him if he would have hit the back-up sensors...

No offense, but I would have been hard pressed to take any of my own vehicles on such a trip. Those 'higher risk' situations are what rentals are for. Keep the pride and joy at home and safe.
