Yuppie Jag Driver

The kids at the carwash love my car, so today when I pull out I did about a 50 yard power slide exit, much to their satisfaction. I look in the mirror and I see a Jag XK with the top down, and the guy is zigging all over traffic trying to catch me. He does at the light just down the road from the carwash, and obviously wants to race. He is creeping up at the light like he is staging against Don Garlits or something. The light goes green, I give him a half car length move and then jam it. At 4000 rpm in first I pull even with him, at the 1-2 gearchange I pull away as if his engine has quit. I run it up to about 100, I'm 10 lengths on him, and back off. He catches up but has no further interest in racing. I know the standard XK is not that fast, but he thought it was. My sister in law has the XKR, and it is fast, would probably be a drivers race. He was one surprised yuppie.

Nice. I'll bet he wouldn't even give you a thumbs up or in fact even look at you. Racing is supposed to be fun. For some people it is always a grudge match or a look at me ego trip.

Well done! Shame there seem to be so many poor sports out there!

My old XJR would probably give my SRT8 a good run.
