Just a note:
These are W rated tires (168mph), and you should go for the Y rated ones (186mph) just like the rating on our original F1's...Our cars do reach 172mph stock
This is the size that DCX should have put on our cars in the first place. Later,Tomi
Not really! Maybe in the rear, but for the front that's overkill and counter productive. You just made your car slower in the turns. Take a look around - not one high performance car in the world runs such a wide tire up front when you consider the staggered rear tire size. Even Porsche, Ferrari and Lambo cars that runs some 305 & 315 widths in the rear will have a 225/235 up front to maintain steering quickness.
Some of those pictures look like some tight clearance?
The resolution is very low, I am resending hi res versions of the pics to caligeezer tonight. There is actually more than a 1/4" clearance from sidewall to spindle at the top of the tire and that is the tightest clearance of all. Traction of the 275 wide tires is noticably better than that of the original 245's and the ride also feels a little nicer. the sound that they make as they spin is a lot sexier than the old RSA's were as well. Overall I am extremely happy with the purchase of these tires. And the W rating doesnt bother me as I dont usually spend extended periods of time above 168mph, although I have been there now and then... Prolly 90% of the owners here will never see those speeds...Later, Tomi
the 285/40/20's are close in overall diameter as the stock, I wonder if putting those on the rear will have any rubbing issues?
thanks
I've checked every tire manufacturer I can think of they all list 275 as the widest rubber that can go on a 9" rim. I'm sure it's physically possible to get a 285 on there but It might not be safe.
