Hey INDYCODER,

I am in Cincinnati and travel to Indy once or twice a week on business, except winter when things kind of slow down.

When we get our SRT-8's we should get together for some photos and fun. Maybe plan an 300C gathering. I think it would be cool to get a bunch of owners together. What do you think?

Question

Has anyone gotten a firm commitment in writting from their dealer yet to lock in a first right of refusal? I know it shouldn't be needed, but still, this is business, not the company barbecue.

I may well follow you back to Ohio and pick up some King ribs and ride some roller coasters. Drop me a line when you come to town next.

Talking

Will do. Picked up my build sheet and changed my order to Silver instead of Black wife insisted or no car without a fight : - (

As a businessman, I know she is right, but the black looks so cool (the day you wash it).

I also got on my signed order a nice addition; "Customer has 14 days first right of refusal from arrival of vehicle @ KWC". I love those words!

Per Car and Driver, Chrysler will be building 10,000 per year.
But maybe the ramp will be slower in first year 2005.

PHSYCHED!!!

Hello everyone!

I'm a new member, posting for the first time. I'd like to thank all of you for all your posts; they have been quite informative and helped answer a number of questions that the local dealers have not been able to fathom.

After reading about some of your confirmed orders, last Friday the 14th, I grabbed my checkbook and drove to what appeared to be the largest SRT dealer in my area... ready and willing to place an order.

Since they had an SRT-4, an SRT-6, and SRT-10 and a Viper on the showroom floor, I figured these guys might have some leverage in the system.

BUT...the sales manager reported that earlier in the day, the computerized ordering system had deleted all four SRT-8 cars that he had previously input for stock (not reserved for actual buyers). Said the system won't allow him to enter a new order until further notice.

I just got off the phone with him and he is telling me the regional (zone?) rep doesn't know why this happened, nor when he can place a real order. The sales mgr is thinking it could be as long as a month before the system will take any more orders for the car. (?)

So... do any of you know... is it this particular store / sales mgr or have ALL the orders been cancelled? Am I able to place an order through another dealer

Anyone with an insight of what's up?

Gordon

Exclamation

I am sure everyone who has a build sheet in hand is curious about this post!!! I for one will be calling my dealer first thing in the morning to make sure my order has not been deleted. I suggest others do the same.

I would be very curious to hear what the rest of you learn. Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like there is better information here on the forum that coming through the dealer grapevine.
