SRT-8 in Canada?

I've spoken to a few dealers here and none of them have pricing for the srt-8 in Canada. A few of dealers have told me that Canada might get the srt's in the Fall. Just wondering if anyone in Canada has got a price quote from a dealer?

Dealers have no pricing as of Friday. The vehicle is not in the ordering system. Worse still, rumour has it that all of the 05's may go south of the border to the U.S.

Thanks. Im starting to think the same thing that all the SRT-8's are heading south first. I spoke to the lease manager at the dealer I purchased my car and he told me he doubts to see the SRT-8 been released the same time it does in the US. My guess is Canada will see the SRT-8 but the msrp will be much higher then the US but I can't imagine myself spending $60,000+ for a SRT-8.

I do not have definitive pricing, however some SRT's are in build now to be delivered to Canadian dealers in mid-February. Some larger dealers should have an allocation

My local Canadian West coast dealer was also putting out guesstimated figures in the low $60,000s Canadian for the SRT8.

Logically: If the US list price is going to be $39,995 US and the US/Can currency conversion is about 1.2, then the Canadian list would be expected to be less than $50,000 Canadian - $49,995Can. would be about right

So how come dealer list price estimates are padding more than an extra $10,000 Canadian into the price?

Only at approx $50,000Can. list pricing will I look at buying an SRT8.

Because American dealers are already rubbing their greedy hands together and gearing everyone up for $5000-$15,000 markups.

That's good logic, but that's not what will happen. Remember when the Cdn. Dollar was at .65 to the USD? All the manufacturers subsidized part of the exchange rate. This meant Cdn cars were a better price for American buyers. They also did everything in their power to prevent dealers or individuals from buying in Canda and exporting to the U.S. (I went through all this 2 years ago with a Pacifica for my sister in Fla).

The base price in Canada for the SRT-8 will be set by DC Canada at $53,000 by my best guess. Options could take it up to $57,000.00

And what do you get for it, a few more HP? I remember when they brought out the 300 M special, it wasn't a good buy especially here in Canada with having to buy 4 wheels if you drove it in winter and a lot of the regular 300's were able to get about the same HP with some tinkering, and the car just like the SRT was only available in black or silver. What's with that? I personally don't think this car will sell many north of the border, and I would suggest it won't be long before someone comes out with something to up the HP in the 3.5. IMHO.

I agree. And I have a story to tell about what happened when DC took a nice car, the 300M, lowered it added oversized tires and wheels and called it the 300M Special .

It ain't pretty. I'll save it for another post

I am sure gas prices won't help sales either...especially without even MDS helping...
