[quote=300CUL8R]As a future SRT-8 owner, the fewer SRT-8s on the road the better. If a couple of extra bucks for gas a month makes that big a difference perhaps it's best they stick with the 'C'.[quote]

Agreed, I am a speed demon......@ heart that is.
A quick burnout here and there, a lil torque to start me off @ the light.

I also like to criuse the highways and enjoy the view. So the MDS is nicer to have.

CAI, headers etc., from what I've heard, w/ some mods we could get an extra 25 to 35 HP???

The C is plenty for me.
Although if I do see an 8 on the street, I'll be the first to acknowledge you.

I would not mind the extra gas comsumption but for pete's sake increase the gas tank to 21. A 19 gallon tank is going to make road trips unbearable having to stop for gas every 250 miles. That means the people in the Nissan MiniVan doing 55 will actually get to Florida before you driving 85 because you have to keep stopping for fuel.

Here's some links to the Allpar site with good discussion of the SRT8 engine and the 300C engine. No MDS for the SRT8! Two different strokes for two different kind of folks. I think this site has been updated since I last visited it because I don't remember any of this SRT8 discussion from before.

This one has a nice little section: "What makes the SRT8 version different?"

This one has a good spec sheet for the SRT8:
