I have owned the GTO and driven the CTS-V a lot (on track and street). The GTO is not comparable. Maybe to the 2004 Mach 1 I have, but not my SRT-8.

The wheel hop and heavy clutch in the CTS-V were not something I want in a $50k car and the interior in my 05 TL was much nicer. Went with the SRT-8 and very happy I did.

Good gosh, someone's been dredging up old stuff again. Anyway, if you've ever been and sat in one, drove one, etc., I agree they are NOT really comparable cars.
