Sorry, but non-SRTs dont have the 3 way programming. Meaning you dont get the ESP DEACTIVATED showing on the EVIC, nor the ESP OFF cue when it returns to showing your normal info like compass.

I know the 5.7 crowd thinks theres a hidden off mode, but whatever that is, its not the same.

All I know is that if I hold it down for 7-10 sec with the key in the "on" position I get a chime. Can't say for sure if the EVIC says anything as I haven't looked. If I simply press the ESP button while the car is running you can tell that ESP still kicks in some. With the other mode I don't feel a thing but pure HEMI power. So unless I'm imagining it, we can turn ours "off" as well.

Wish we could get someone to watch the system bus on a Starscan while doing this to a 5.7, see what you get

Yes, hitting the switch puts you back in normal ESP On mode.

I've read somewhere, that there is a " stuck button " chime on our cars. To warn you that you might have something holding a button down that you don't know about.

It's been mentioned somewhere in these forums that if you don't have an SRT8, that is all your chiming about. Not completely sure, but where I read this it was said by a Chrysler Tech.

So my assumption is that if it doesn't add the " ESP Deactivated " message on the EVIC screen, it may be just a warning chime.
