I called the Customer Service line and talked to a guy who told me my SRT8 as in "gateway D1 status". He also politely asked that I use my dealer for any future inquiries - maybe these guys are getting a lot of calls from us!
I did talk to my dealer later and he gave me my '06 VIN number (cool!)
I'm sorry to post this in numerous threads, but I found out last night my 05 SRT8 was in D2 status. I had never heard of D2, and it seems nobody around here had either. I asked the BAP worker (markyneutron) who sent the information what the difference was. He told me it only shows up in their computers when its D2. What I've gathered from this, and correct me if I'm wrong, if DCX tells you its in D1, then that should mean its in THEIR system, you have a VIN and probably a build date. I'm guessing that they then forward it on to Brampton in their own sweet time and when it comes up close to the build date it automatically goes into D2. Maybe when we ask for information from the Brampton site, once we get a VIN, the reason it takes so long for them to get back to us is because it's not even in their computers until DCX changes it to D2 status. I'm thinking it stands to reason if they assign a number to the "D", then it would appear a D1 would change to the next step. Otherwise why have a number after the D. I'm so confused! Who knows maybe there's a D3 and 4, and...

I'm on hold again at the moment checking on my own order. The CS guy just finished asking me if I had tried to get the info from the dealer first.
"No... because they never call me first, as they promised. I always try to get the most recent info from Customer Service"!
So... if there are only about 30 of us on the forum that have actually ordered cars, I doubt that we're causing THAT big a problem.
The CS guy just came back on the phone... and he has no information whatsoever on my order number. I asked if it were a computer access problem at his end, and again he said I should call the dealer. It's obvious he didn't want to spend any time with me.
Isn't this supposed to be a "Customer Service" line?? What the hell? Even if they think it's the dealer job and not theirs, they are in "Customer Service", and they should take care of customers who call.

Every time I try to call them I get the standard line, we handle warranty issues etc., or something like that or that it's meant for people who already have cars.

I have to be honest..I've had pretty good experiences talking to those folks. The key is that you HAVE to get the center in MI, not the one down South. If you get elevator music right after choosing Option #5, just hang up. Wait until you get computer generated music, and then get prompted to take a survey. That's the center (I guess it's in MI???) where you'll get answers. And I did notice that it doesn't hurt to agree to take the survey. My average wait time is probably 15 - 20 minutes but I always get answers. Believe me..sometimes you have to call 15 - 30 times before you get the computer generated music but you can do that in a matter of minutes if you hit redial.
As a matter of fact..I'm going to call now just so I can hear that my car is still in BE status.

I wanted to see if anyone else lately has been able to use the touch tone sequence at the start of this thread? The menu options are different for me now. Everytime I calll in, option 2 is for the recall information. I can't get to the option to put in my telephone number. Who's figured out how to get to the center that can actually tell you what your status code is. I've been trying for the last two weeks.

The options has seemed to change. I pressed 1 then 5 and sat on hold for approx 10-15 mins. I gave the guy who answered my VON and he gave me my status.
I ordered my on Feb 18th and mine was in BG status.
If you dont know the order status codes here is the thread:
The link you provided is the thread you responded too and I actually started it. Thanks for the reply. I'll try again. I kept hanging up because I couldn't reach someone who could tell me my current status.

I haven't had much luck lately either. But here's a post I replied to a few days ago and how I've found the best way to get through:
The key is that you HAVE to get the center in MI, not the one down South. They're clueless and more than likely the ones you've been reaching. If you get a voice saying 'your estimated wait time is...' and then elevator music right after choosing Option #5, just hang up. Keep calling until after choosing option #5, you get computer generated music, and then get prompted to take a survey. After that you'll be asked for either your VIN# or home telephone number. That's the center (I guess it's in MI???) where you'll get answers. And I did notice that it doesn't hurt to agree to take the survey. My average wait time is probably 15 - 20 minutes but I always get answers. Hope this helps...But like I said..I haven't had any luck in the last two days. Yesterday I decided to hang on the line with the elevator music and sure enough was put in touch with some guy who didn't even know the current date, much less the status of my car.

I called, got the first option. Hung out on hold for about 15 minutes and reached a girl who gave me my status update. Nothings changed, but then I am getting an 06' (had no say in being switched from an 05') but at least I got what I needed. An answer.
