I'm sure Dr. Danno can provide the links, several members have reported mid 4's to around 4.3 for 0-60 under ideal conditions.

That's a pretty good goal to shoot for. I admit my conditions were far from ideal, from being some of my first hard launchs to tire spin and delaying wot on the first run! Will be interesting to see how low it can get!

Very cool that the EVIC will report your 0-60. Keep us posted if you make some more runs.

It is causing me a great deal of depression...

Actually, after thinking about this, the computer has all these data inputs, so this is a relatively easy addition to the computer output. I wonder if this is something that could be "flashed" to earlier EVICs?

If the ABS measures the speed of the front wheels, the 1/8 and 1/4 mile times could also be calculated.

Whatchathink?
Is somebody looking into the upgrade? I along with Tork Monster have sunk into the depths of a dark depression along with EVIC Envy. Help, somebody find us a software update before I am forced to turn to Prozac.

passport escort and GTech

Last year I bought a Passport Escort and have one 4.55 and many 4.7 - 4.9, but also had some 5.5 with too much wheel spin or ESP engaged.

I internet shopped this device that attaches to the windshield and got the upgraed $200 model of less than $100. It really taught me how to cut the tenths off the launch, here are a few things that lead to the 4.55 0 - 60 and 12.9 quarter:

1. lower rear tire air pressure (25ish?)
2. ESP all off mode
3. leave in first gear and burn the tires for 4-5 seconds
4. choose a road that has a good traction surface, preferable a rougher concrete as apposed to blacktop
5. Get into WOT quickly buy not just pedal to the medal, with all of the above in place, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 second to the floor
6. Probably most importantly was lower ambient air tempratures! Seemed like 2 -3 tenths once the outside temprature was about 40-50 degrees.

You guys like me with 06 or 05, spend a couple of bucks and you will have a blast. Many articles on the different models. The passport has been proven to be within 1000's of track clock.

I wonder what the rough correlation is between a 1.8, 1.9 and 2.0 60fts vs. 0-60 mph times? I usually use 0-30mph times in the magazines to get a rough idea of the launch characteristics of a car.

Anyone take an educated guess?

You rang? Here are a few threads that I could find. There could be others as I’m on my way out the door from work….but there are a couple that may provide some interesting information at least. Good luck!

Whats funny are the people who spoke of investing in instrumentation to help measure their 0-60 times.....this makes all that obsolete.
