Need Advice and Help FAST Please!!!!

I have been on the forums for a while and need some advice fast.
I have located a 2006 Silver Steel SRT8 300c at a dealer close to my house.
Its Fully Loaded the MSRP is 47,895 they are willing to sell me the car for 39,427.00 Does that sound out of place.
The Car was built on January 12th 2006 so it has been sittin on their lot about 9-10 months is that an issue. Buyin a car that has sat for so long.
Am i better off buying a car which was produced later in the year. I have a line on a simular car in VA that was produced on 4/14/2006 but the price is more. How can i make sure this car has the new Facia and the Total Disable for the Traction control. The Car is at Warnock Dodge Chrysler in NJ. the Production date again is 1/12/2006 and the Vin is

first off....if this is a brand new no miles then you would be
a fool not to buy it.....well as long as finance's allow you to...
and the issue about siting there for 9 months...well as long
as they started it at least once a month then your gaskets
should be just fine along with all other parts...
if that price is true....then i say BUY IT... dont walk run!!

DITTO!
That is a fantastic price; that is a car that you hope to find!
The dealer REALLY wants to unload it because the 2007's are coming in.

The other concerns you mention are nil in my opinion. The ESP shut-off can be completely resolved & improved with the GSM mod. Dealers are always going to "cycle" the cars to wash 'em and test drive them.

The ONLY concern I would have is the "test drive" miles on it. I would ask them to put it in writing that the car has not had any bodywork or major mechanical damage repaired; it may have been hit and that is why the car has not been sold before now.

Damn I just saw this post. I sure hope to hell you took the advice from Herbs and Tork….RUN for that deal!! Excellent deal. Don’t worry about it sitting on the lot. My Ram SRT10 was on the lot for 5 months. Not a problem to be had! I hope you pulled the trigger and report back a favorable outcome!

Yeah - I paid a little more for less options. I'm sure the car is fine, try to get a deal on the extended warranty just to be sure. I doubt there's any problems with it.

What's the odo read? That'll give you an idea of how it's been treated. Too many test drives and I may sweat it a little...

I assume the $39,427 includes guzzler tax and that there are no large added dealer fees. The price sounds as good as it could get. I paid about the same for no options last year (of course then 2006 was the current model year.)

I would definitely test drive it first. If it drives nice, buy it.

If it doesn't drive nice, make very sure it's fixable. Don't buy a "dog". Don't buy it if it feels abused; it should feel minty fresh. There's no need to WOT during the test drive, instead check things like that it steers straight, the engine idles smoothly, there are no odd creaks or banging (just remembering some problems people have had, but they are rare), etc. Have no doubt that it'll go like a scalded dog when you tap your right foot with emphasis.

The fascia you can check yourself by looking at it. It's a matter of preference if you care at all -- if you get the old fascia, you can replace it cheaply with the new one. If you get the new fascia, the parts for the old one were expensive and are now unavailable from Chrysler.

Every car built in calendar year 2006 has the new 3 setting traction control switch. Mine was built in November 2005 and has it.

Dude, we're having a great time here on the DARK SIDE. Come on over!

I am a bit leary of this car. The dealer seems hesistant to disclose if there was any bodywork done. I have been comunicating with them over the internet and they were really pushing me to buy. As soon as i emailed them to ask for actual miles on the car and if the car had any bodywork or major mechanical work its like they droped off the face of this earth have not heard back from them. I even called the sales person and no joy. Is it because if they email me a statement that the car has NO mechanical or Body work its legaly binding and they are hidding something. I am now trying to work the deal with the dealer in VA its $40,950 for that car but its a very late production and the car has 4 miles on it.

That definately sounds fishy to me. You can bet if there wasn't ANYTHING wrong with it they would have quickly let you know, so you could run there and buy it. I would stay away from them. You should have no problem finding another one if you look hard enough!

Warnock seems to be a pretty legit dealership. I brought my car in to have the tranny o-ring replaced and the service was excellent. I spent about 5 hours there a couple of weeks ago dealing on either an '06 Durango Limited or a RAM 1500 Megacab - loaded and was offered very reasonable prices. I ultimately decided not to pull the trigger but my experience was positive.

If you'd like, I can go take a look at the car for you. I work 2 miles from them. Which one is it? And no, I'm not trying to steal your deal.

Let me know soon if you read this. I'm at work now and will be leaving by 2 PM. I can run over there beforehand.

Dan
