The options:
1) Call a lawyer. Most of the time they’ll get them thrown out. Worst case, you pay the ticket, court fees and a small traffic attorney fee.
2) If it is offered, take defensive driving to erase the ticket from your record and it will also lower your insurance. You’ll pay the cost of traffic school (Block Buster offers a DVD rental class), and ticket amount.
I'm pretty sure if you where pulled over on 1287 that it was a STATE TROOPER! They now have a NO PLEA agreement which means they will not make a deal with you because of new regulations. You need to get an attorney or look on-line and find some one who was a ex-cop who now defends people who get tickets. I've seen some thing on-line before. I'll try and find it for you!
Type in speeding tickets on google and you will find reps that will help you. There all former judges or Prosecutor's.... They will help and it's worth the money in my opinion. Rather pay than get that ticket on my license. Insurance companies will love you too w/ that ticket!
Good luck and see you around in NY.

Oh well, after not getting a speeding ticket in over 25 years, I got pulled over on a newly built spur of I-95 near the Palm Beach Airport. Somehow these 300's attract lots of attention, especially from people in cars with fancy light bars in the windshield.
He was a friendly type, and for a short time I thought it might have resulted in a stern warning. The cop said he could have written it for $350 (they were in the process of planting palm trees in the median) but since I seemed to be listening to him, and wasn't threatening, he downed it to $200.
I came home, registered in an online safe driver course, and knocked it out before dinner. This way the points from the ticket immediately evaporate. Upside is that now I can present this safe certificate for a 10% discount on insurance for the next three years.
The worst part is now I have to mind my P's and Q's on the Florida Turnpike, the home of average 90 mph driving.
It depends on whether it was a "county" cop, NYS Tropper, or village/town cop. I287 near CT could be either ,NYST, County, Harrison, Rye or Port Chester. check your ticket. In any event plead not guilty on the ticket and and mail it in, making a copy for yourself. It takes months to come up at which time you will speak with the officer, not a judge or prosecutor prior to being called before the Court. Depending on the cop, and jurisdiction, you may get some slack. Also depends on your priors.
That is very interesting. Perhaps right now would be a good time to switch. I think AIG has raised our rates the past couple of years anyway. Do they do business in Connecticut?
DZeckhausen and crhemi, this is on my commute from work so even though it's in a different state -- I live in Connecticut -- it's convenient for me. It's the points I'm worried about not the fine.
NJ Manufacturers only offers car insurance in NJ and some parts of PA. Plus, they have some strict eligibility requirements.
Currently employed by a member organization of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association; or
Currently employed by the State of New Jersey; or
The named insured or resident spouse on a current or previous NJM policy for Personal Auto or Homeowners; or
A current or previous operator of a vehicle insured under an NJM Personal Auto policy.

And good luck trying to behave on that sucker!
You also have a lifetime limit of 5 times you can use the traffic school and you can’t use it more than once in a year. It does save you from the points and massive fines. Good luck at holding her down….these babies love to run!
