How can the dealership's service department make an easy thing like an oil change seem so difficult? I had my oil changed by one of the 3 local Dodge dealers this past weekend and I feel like I needed to go back in the shop and show them how to do it. Not only did the service tech drag my front facia onto a curb outside the waiting area, but he did a sloppy job either changing the filter or draining the oil. I looked under my car the next morning and found a puddle of oil. I had to return the first thing monday morning so they could clean the undercarige of my car. I look forward to doing the next change myself. Where is the safest spots to jack the 300s? My floor jack just barely fits under it.
Dealer Training.......really now that's a funny one!
You’re experience, sadly, has been echoed around this place many times. Here is a thread on the jacking points. Hope this helps you. Good luck on changing it yourself!

Ramps with a 2x4 or 2x6 in front of them work well also.

Heh...are you sure they used the right oil? I always do my own. But, I'd be tempted to pay their exorbitant fees if I wasn't able to rent a lift bay for $3... crawling around on the ground with the front end of the car just high enough to cram my head under it doesn't agree with me so much...

As I said in the original post, I'm a 3X (I can't drive my daughter's Subaru Outback ), and I have plenty of room. Once you put it up on ramps, remove the engine cover, and slide past the front spoiler, there's lots of room under there!
To Floored:
Our car isn't like others I've worked on, where the filter or drain is located as to spill oil on other parts of the frame, etc. when removed, only to drip down later (if you don't clean it up). I don't see how you could have a puddle on the cover or your driveway unless the filter or drain plug were not tight. Maybe the "tech" didn't use a funnel and spilled oil down the side when putting the new oil in? Better keep an eye on things (oil level & look for leaks) for the next few days.

May be a stupid question... If you put the fronts up on drive-on ramps, will all the oil still drain out. Is the drain plug in the rear of the pan. The car will be at an up-angle, can someone please explain. I want to change it myself, but need some info.
