Well, I just got off the phone with the Dealership and they are going to need to keep the car over night.

1. They don't have the slotted rotors and new brake pads in stock and need to get them from Atlanta

2. They couldn't balence any of the tires/Rims. All were out of round and the Service adviser told me he pulled a few strings and has me four new tires

3. One of the wheels is bent, and that I would need to buy one. I asked him to find an impact spot as I know the car hasn't hit anything. He called me back after he went to bat for me again and they are going to warrantee the wheel as it has no impact mark on it and the tire shows no damage. Wheel coming in from Atlanta

4. The shift issue hasn't been resolved yet but his tech has called Chrysler to help him resolve the issue.

5. They couldn't duplicate the ESP/ABS light coming on and haven't heard of that happening previously.

So sounds like I'm getting the things done that need fixing, but I have to live without the car for a second day.

Strange about the wheel being bent, and the tires all out of round. My initial thought on the tires is that with the car being an 06 delivered to the dealer last December it sat for a long time before I purchased in October. The wheel had to be defective from the factory.

It's never easy is it!

My car did all of the above and here was the conclusion-

1- Brakes and rotors replaced. (Same squeeling until Zek's replacement)
2- ESP solved by replacing computer from SRT people.
3- The computer happened to solve the shifting too.

3 days of labor and parts waiting!!!

Your list of problems looks very familiar to many of us. The brakes, rotors, and shift hesitation are all issues commonly voiced here on the forums. It will be interesting how they fix the shift hesitation as no TSB has been released on that one yet. Sounds like they’re doing a good job since they’re replacing your wheel and tires for you. Good luck and keep us updated.

Interesting this is the first solution that has been provided to the ESP/BAS light. Mine just came on the other day in the same scenario as many others (in drive with foot on brake for an extended period)

My light started that way and then progressed to alway being on unless restart reset. It was throwing no codes either on the built in OBI reader but the delear had a conference call with the SRT people and they overnighted a new computer.

Well let the drama continue.

I received a call from the service adviser this afternoon and he said that they were going to need to keep the car overnight again.

1. The slotted rotors and pads, and the wheel had arrived from Atlanta. But one of the rotors looks to have been damaged in shipping so he'd was having another shipped and will have it tomorrow.

2. The new tires had not arrived. I understood that they were coming from a Goodyear retailer in town so this was a bit confusing to me.

3. He had been in contact with Chysler SRT about the shift point issue and they were working on it. He said that ScanStar couldn't change the shift points on the transmission so he wasn't sure that he would get this issue resolved even though he'll have the car for another day. Also stated that he has a second SRT8 in the shop that is also hitting the rev limiter before shifting 2nd to 3rd.

4. No news on the ESP issue.

Like I said before, its never easy is it!
