Exactly when did the front bumper change?

Hi Guys!!

I was curious... when exactly did the 300C SRT8 gain an opening in the front bumper?! And does your bumper have that extra opening?!

Thanks,
Craig!!

It was changed from June 06 production if I'm not wrong.

Yeah it was June/July. Craig, you need to lower that front plate of yours seeing as you're one of the lucky ones not to have that hideous extra vent.

The whole thing. It's now one piece.

that's a nice way to differentiate the models... makes it THAT much harder to clone one. a lot like the Charger... if you wanted to make a convincing clone you have to commit to buying, painting and swapping out a pair of bumper covers... not just tacking on a piece or two and bolting up wheels and tires.

Hey SSpray. That is the real downer of it all.

If you have the original 2 piece front fascia and lower chin spoiler. If you trash the bottom chin spoiler. There is no replacement piece available anymore.

When DCX forced the new 1 piece all molded fascia and lower chin spoiler, mid 06. They discontinued the original 2 piece fascia and lower chin spoiler. So if you tank your original 2 piece, you will be forced to replace it with the new 1 piece replacement.

Thank goodness, with the help of a member, I located the last available lower chin spoiler and an original front fascia, no extra holes. I stored them both at my painters shop for safe keeping, if and when I trash the 2 piece on Freebird.

FreebirdSRT when she was a puppy. I am soooo glad we got the cleaner, smoother front end over the cheese grater new front ends.

Wasn't there someone who had plans to mold them at one time here?

It wasn't me Rambit. It may have been discussed by me. I was more concerned with locating the 2 pieces for a back up (pre- mid 06 fascia)(pre-mid 06 lower chin spoiler). Once Ted told me at MoparSuperCenter that when you entered the old part numbers, the only thing that came up was the new 1 piece replacement (with the extra row of holes). Ted told me that means the old fascia and seperate lower chin spoiler were no longer available/discontinued.

PS Rambit, congrats on recently passing the 5000 post mark. You are a true asset to the forums. Keep up the great work.

I beg to differ. Build date of 4/27/06:

Of course mine could be a one-off or maybe that Freebird guy got me to buy an inexpensive SRT8 that had been wrecked - with only six miles...
