On that note, we have an advisory. We have been asked about the GSM TCM module and their changes. We purchased a "recalibrated" 6.1L transmission control module and we analyzed it. Beware. It was a totally stock Mopar part. For $699 they are re-selling our service part. Since it is a service part, the "AI" software variant could be newer than what some people have in their vehicles....say if they have a 2005 LX SRT-8. The dealer could do exactly the same thing for a lot less money.

Well, they didn't answer my question if they were implying it was consumer fraud. Then again, they didn't say it wasn't. Another in the long list of bad publicity for GSM.

Yes I noticed they skirted your question. When I saw that response my evening beverage nearly tipped over. I’ve never seen them say anything like that before. Yes, just another bad publicity moment for GSM.

Thanks for the heads up, but . . . . . since I've been here at the forum, I don't recall learning anything from any Q&A, except that they can't really do anything more for our cars performance wise (or won't say, cause that would be revealing some super-secret information). Hey, my Kooks LTH shouldn't have given me any performance boost as well, cause the stock shorty headers are so well made, but I still felt a boost there. Thanks for the info guys! So if they can actually do something for our transmissions, THEN WHY THE HELL HAVEN'T THEY ALREADY HAVE DONE SO!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK HERE, I'VE BEEN STUCK WITH THAT ****** 1-2 HESITATION SINCE DAY ONE AND IT S****!
I've purchased my GSM TCM and it will be on on Saturday, cause frankly, switching from my BMW, this transmission is the least favorite aspect of my car. If the GSM mod helps AT ALL then it will be money well spent and if the TCM doesn't live up to the expectations, then I'll say that too. Damn it, I'm pissed, but I'll be more pissed on Saturday, either way.

You're saying that $700 for a STOCK TCM is money well spent? Huh? Only ONE person on the planet would agree with you - Scott from GSM, as you just lined his pockets with $700 in pure profit. If you are lucky GSM will include a jar of vaseline with the TCM you ordered, that is if they haven't run out of it yet.

This is the first SRT Q&A i have followed. The theme I saw in their responses to performance mods (thermo stats, sways, 255/45 tires, etc) is that they believe they have found the correct trade off between performance and durability/reliability. Mods will either screw up the perfect balance in the car, or they havn't tested the trade-offs. So they won't/can't recommend them.

Yes, that is an excellent summary. All previous sessions have been similar. I watch the SRT Sessions to learn about upcoming TSBs. I'm glad to see we have one coming at the end of December.
