Evic 0-60 upgrade

During the SRT question & answer session, marnepup asked:
"Is it possible to flash an upgrade to older SRT8s to add the awesome 0-60 tool to the EVIC?"

He received two replies:
First, post #96
SRT Q&A Session: 12/13/06
"sorry, it is not possible to update."

and then, post #109:
SRT Q&A Session: 12/13/06
"It's in the engineering mode"

Which I take to mean that they are working on an upgrade/flash. Am I being optimistic here, or do other's read it the same way?

planned

It's part of planned obsolescense. They deliberately design the software to exclude this update capability.

Simply buy a new car and you get all the new toys!

You may be able to get it but you have to find someone willing to put in the hours it will take to figure it out!

Take the word mode of his statement. He's saying its in the engineering. At least that is how I translate it.

I took it to mean that the 0-60 function was located in the EVIC's Engineering Menu (mode). Meaning he misunderstood the question.
