Auto-Dim

Since new, my nav unit's autodim has not worked. Checked all settings to make sure setup was right. Dealer ended up swaping out with a new NAV unit , but still no auto dim - stays daytime bright all the time. Hassle always going to manual dim when sun goes down.

Any thoughts on where to direct the service guys next? Thanks.

I’ve not experienced what you’re describing. Sorry you’re having troubles. Here are a few links that go into the navigation brightness. I don’t know if they will help or not…just offering an attempt. Good luck and keep us updated.

Dim the Nav/Satellite Screen?

NAV brightness issue

REC NAV Display Dim in cold weather

Dash Cluster and Nav Brightness

How can I control the brightness settings

Does anything on this forum miss your radar? I checked my interior lights dim wheel - it was only one click down from 'interior lights on'. I'll move it one more click down and I should be in business - will post if it doesn't work. Guess our dealer's 'experienced service tech's' could do with some time on this site. Thanks.

Wow, I feel sorry for your dealer. That was one of the first things I searched on this forum. Maybe you can charge them to be their "on-call" SRT expert.

You guys rock! I just got my car and was having the same issue with the nav brightness. Just went out to the car and moved the dim wheel down one and just like magic, it's fixed.

Given that the problem with ultimately determined to be that the interior light dim switch was set to "ON" instead of somewhere in the "DIM" area, this dealer's folly in "fixing" it is about the funniest repair job I've read in a while!
