Just got back from GSM and I'm happy to say that the TCM rocks. First off, let me say I'm likely a more conservative driver than many of our forum members, particularly those that mod. I also keep my car in "D":
With that said, I noticed an immediate improvement with how fluid the shifts were and how much any perceptable hesitation or sluggishness was reduced. Overall, I'd say I'm far more happy with my initial perception of the GSM TCM then I was with the B&G stage II flash and this is only after an hour of street and freeway driving. I'm confident my satisfaction will continue to grow the more I'm in my car, but to repeat, the improvement is obvious and immediate.
For those that are interested or care to believe, Scott was totally psyched with the outcome and was very happy the way my car shifted both in D and manually, after he took the wheel. Also, for those that are interested how this interacts with the B&G flash, in manual, Scott was able to put it into limp mode twice. so for those hoping that this TCM would prevent that, I guess that would be your answer. Personally, even though I've gone sideways a number of times, I have never put it into limp mode, so this doesn't concern me.
Of course, you'll have to decide for yourself if the price is right for you. Hey if someone else can do it cheaper, then hats off to them, but for me, the money was very well spent.
Doyle, congrats on your purchase, I'm glad you like it. Hopefully other members with this mod, with various other mods or lack of, will chime in with their reviews (whether favorable or not). It was good of you to include the limp mode part, so that potential buyers will have a better idea of what the TCM does, and does not do.

I am curious as what exactly the advantage is expected to be for the GSM TCM upgrade compared to the results or expected results from the upcoming TSB flash? You state that your hesitation was "reduced" (does that mean not eliminated btw?), which is what the TSB is also going to address...

It will up the rpm's within the shifts power band.......... Thus ridding the bogging effect when shifting to a higher gear.............
It will also have other features that is not really my place to discuss....
I do know that this TCM will really work well with the S/C'd system.... I am still a little confused on exactly what (still learning), so i will wait to discuss this until I can give the correct terminalogies...
Mine should be here next week. I know that some of you won't take my views to high as I have purchased 99% of my goodies from GSM, but I will be as unbiased or objective (Thanks Rambit for the catch) as I can....

Thanks for the info. It doesn't necessarily matter WHERE you purchased a particular mod from, what's most important is HOW well it works "as advertised", as stated in an unbiased opinion.

Good question, but with my limited knowledge/experience, I wouldn't be very eloquent, sorry in advance, plus I think 1bad4Dr described its attributes better than I could. As far as reduced vs. eliminated, I'm not going to judge this untill I've been behind the wheel a few days during my normal routine. I am a loyal GSM costumer, but believe it or not, I'm not going to say something that isn't true.
I just want to minimize or eliminate the sense of hesitation I have consistently felt that occurred most often when entering the freeway. During this critical period of safely positioning yourself and judging your acceleration to that of others, this pause would occur and then after loosing ground, the power would kick in and all hell would break loose. I didn't like this guessing/timing game and it took away from the pleasure of safely and conservatively taking advantage of this car's massive power and the added power from the mods I have done. This same hesitation would also occur consistently in passing situations as well, and again, guessing and timing was somewhat dangerous feeling to me. So far this is immediately and considerably better, but let me observe this car for longer, to find out everything that I think is improved and to what degree.
If the TSB can do this and it is free for everyone, then hat's off to Chrysler. Like I said earlier on another thread, I'm comfortable with paying the amount and definitely have no regrets, it was money very well spent. Next week, it's the torque converter, so Scott will get more of it. Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, right now Scott is better than Santa Claus.
