Thanks once again for the inside scoop, RT4. My dealer is supposed to call me today with an update. I like having this info available to be able to gauge his knowledge, or sometimes better put, interest in this deal.

Dan

No way am I going to pay local markup so that mr. salesman and mr. dealership owner's families go on an all-expense paid to hawaii. I don't care how great the SRT-8 is.

While it's hard to beat the value of an SRT-8 at MSRP given everything that comes standard and even the options I & II, the equation changes drastically when you start pushing into $45k-$55k and beyond range ...because for that kind of money there are better choices out there and that local markup and more is thrown away as soon as the car is driven off the lot.
Joey i so agree with you i very satisfied with my C. i love that ca with a passion and i can care less of wonderful this SRT is for that money i'll go back to driving a BENZ. i'm going to speak to the guys that i deal with. the first time i spoke to them they weren't even trying to sell me the SRT because they don't think i need it. i just want to see out of courisity what the price will be

I'm sending in my deposit check for one at MSRP. I don't care if I gotta wait a while, sometime this summer would be fine, I just want to get my "foot in the door" so to speak, on one for a good deal. I figure once they have my deposit, if I'm patient, I'll get it for what I agreed to.

I'm wondering if the dealer can undercut someone who already has a car on order. I too called the Watsonville dealership yesterday and at first they told me that they would sell one at MSRP. Then just before I left to go out of my house the dealer said that they are 5K over MSRP. What if someone walks in and offers the 5K over, can the dealer then just refund the deposit to the guy who paid MSRP? What are you going to do if he returns your depoit and says, sorry?

Totally possible if it's a refundable deposit. That's why you gotta go with your gut and trust the dealership you're dealing with.
