SRT8 Mods

Hello everyone.

I have had my 300 SRT8 for some time now, however I am beginning to think I should change it up a little.

My general question is what performance mods do you recommend that are relatively easy to add performance without messing with the warranty. I have heard of three main ideas:

Superchips plug in
exhaust
cold air intake.

what do you think..if I did any of these mods with respect to $$/mod...which would you recommend and which company do I purchase these products?

Thanks,

Kramer

Welcome to the forum!!!!

I'm not in a position to fully answer your question, but I know lots of folks on the forum are of the opinion you won't get max performance increase by just installing CAI or exhaust. CAI + exhaust + _____ (can't remember off the top of my head what the third thing was) but only when all three are put on, is when you'll really achieve great efficiency over just one or the other.

Sorry, I wasn't much help, but again, welcome to the forum and I'm sure some much smarter folks will be along shortly!!!!!

Kramer, superchips is a no-go. There is not hand held programmer for the SRT8s. B&G is the only one (to my knowledge) that has a flash. Do some searching, most are happy with the B&G Flash!! I put an AIRHAMMER intake on my 3CSRT8 and LOVE it, also just this week did the Blastin Bobs reso delete kit! Love that as well. Neither one overdoes the other. At WOT you can hear both intake and exhaust and they sound great together!

Welcome to the forums 300Kramer and congratulations on owning one of these amazing beasts. From your list the CAI and Exhaust are fairly easy to manipulate and not mess with warranty. Keep in mind that CAI’s are generally considered cosmetic enhancements as general hp gains are presently being debated. For an exhaust there are many different set ups depending on the exhaust note you wish to achieve. Many have gone with the Corsa system that Mopar is putting out. I’ve seen mixed reviews on the Chips. Eric is correct in that tuning for the 6.1 isn’t available. Don't know if any of this helps, but good luck!
