evo vs SRT-8

If the evo driver knows how to declutch with high revs on the start of the race than good luck ! Those cars need a carefull declutching with high revs to get the turbo to kick in so it would be to your advantage to smoothly accelerate the SRT-8 off the line without tire squeeling . After that the evo's are very quick to a 1/4 mile race . Let us know how it goes !

His launch will decide the race, but you should win. If it were from a roll it wouldn't even be a race (if he's stock).

PS: Don't evo's come stock boosting 19-21psi?

Stock for stock advantage SRT by about .5 sec. Many EVO's are even slower as in high 13's. Lightly modified EVO's make it more or less even. Medium modified EVO's gone. These things can make 500+ horsepower. 11 sec, even 10's, are not that difficult.

Stock boost is 19 lbs max, STI's make 15 lb boost.

Factory settings make for 5000 rpm limit on launch but can be defeated.

Manual trans requires close attention to tach so as not to hit rev limiter. Gear changes will give you several opportunities to do this. Add to this the occasional missed shift.

Stabbing the gas pedal in high gear in the EVO will get you high gear. Big advantage SRT.

Handling for the EVO is as good as it gets, don't go there.

For what it's worth dept. Several years ago there was a Subaru meet at a Pennsylvania drag strip. It rains. No problem. Just run 1/8 mile and single lane. Continue racing. Timeslips only of course.
