Cold weather is finally here in the Mid- Altlantic

It is SOOOO funny how this car is night and day when the air is really cool.

It is a completely diff car- with icy cold air the car just terrorizes the streets. I had alot of fun these past few days, but now the snow is here and the salt.... ugh.

She's all bundled up now waiting again for the sun to shine and the streets to clear...

Oh yeah. My baby doesn't like the snow nor do I take her out in it! Fortunately, I can work from my home on days like this. If I have to go out, I steal the wife's FWD Caravan!

How sad to have to put your baby up for the winter (I would do the same). The few cooler mornings we’ve had I could really tell a difference in the performance response. Fortunately I don’t have to put mine up for the winter.

Ken, Haywood: Definitely better to keep it parked today. Or at least yesterday.

I took mine out around 2 pm yesterday in NoVA, and got stuck climbing an icy hill. Turned off the traction control, and slowly made it up. Only to spend a good deal of the time heading down the hill sideways!

Gaagh! No more driving the SRT in snow or ice for me.

Thanks for the advice. It confirms why I don't want to take the Beast out! I'm actually more worried about the idiots out on the road than myself. Most people here don't know how to drive in this weather. What town do you live in?

Get some good snow tires... it'll change your experience. I'll have Blizzacks on the rear by Thurs.

Haywood -- I live in Fairfax (the city). I was just unlucky enough to be caught somewhere by the unexpectedly early snow-turned-to-ice yesterday. And you are right about the other drivers! I come from a more snowy state, so was unpleasantly reminded of the lack of snow skills here, seeing people doing crazy stuff yesterday.

One example -- one woman got stuck (tires spinning) so she got out and stood in the single remaining open road lane (her car with open door blocking the other lane), just looking at it.

I was amazed that with cars sliding around, she wasn't quickly turned to paste.

Goofy -- please let us know how the Blizzacks turn out. I'm tempted but so far have just reverted to the old beater for the duration.
