Question SRT8 tires all same size?

I have a "tires for life" deal with my dealer, part of the contract when I bought my new 300C SRT8 in July 05. I now have 15,000 miles on the car and the front tires, Eagle F1 Supercar tires, are completely worn out on the outsides. The car sounds like a truck when driving down the highway. The dealer is having a problem finding these tires because of a Goodyear strike. However, he told me later model srt8's have the same size tires, front and rear, and he could put them on it! Does anyone know if this is true? My car currently has Eagle Supercar 245/45ZR20's on the front and Eagle Supercar 255/45ZR20's on the back. Thanks....

Hi Mike
Your dealership is a little confused about the SRT8 tires. There is an optional All Season tire that would give you the same size all around. If you choose the F1 option (which is what I have) you have the 245’s on the front and the 255’s on the rear. I just went through this whole process last week. You can get 255’s for all around the car without any trouble. You may want to read up on a couple of threads that discuss this issue. I purchased my tires from Tirerack.com without any trouble with supply. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask.

I’m suspicious that maybe your dealership doesn’t want to pay for the supercar tires?? I paid $198 each for the 255’s and that was on special.

That’s quite a nice deal you have BTW. Very unusual.

Danno, what are your impressions of the 255's all the way around?

The ride is incredible because my ride had been deteriorating for awhile and I never realized how crappy it had become. So they stick like glue to the road, handle most excellent on the twisties and no problems to report at all. Took it for some spirited runs with 4 big dudes in it and never once had a problem. I’m just so happy to get rid of that obnoxious vibration crap! So I say:

BARTENDER…..255’S AROUND FOR EVERYONE!!

I did exactly the same as danno and I am very happy as well. The ability to rotate will delay the onset of the outer edge cupping on the front tires, which appears to be unavoidable. I had the 80mph vibration before I replaced the tires, the outer edge of the front tires were terribly cupped, and the rears were slick(15,015 on the odo). I had the allignment checked on the car, and it was good.
