So I showed my wife how to disable the traction control...

We went out to dinner this weekend, she drove home as I was enjoying the beverages . I showed her what the ESP button does and how to turn the traction control on and off. Turned it off, then at a light I said "Just give the throttle a half stab" she did and the car did a nice little bark and sideways buck. She loved it! Problem is...now I can't get her to stop doing it, she thinks she's a frickin' NASCAR dirver leaving the pits or something Can't blame her though...

I was hoping to get through the summer of '07 on this initial set of tires, guess I can forget about that

Eric

Thats funny man. So for the ESP to work properly do you leave the button off so that when you need it just pops on or should you turn it on with the lil icon showing in your dash and leave it that way?

More like it's always on until you turn it off and the dash light comes on.

So you got the wife hooked on the smell of burning rubber and the sound of the mighty 6.1 roaring off the line. Sounds like fun. I guess you’ll have to keep a special “burn out” jar on the counter. So whoever does a burn out has to put in $5 toward the set of new tires.

I actually did have some friends that did this. They also had a swearing jar for when they used bad language in front of the kids. (Kids enforced) Let’s just say both jars were always full!

Tell me you did not do that, but you just told me you did. My girl asked me why my car wont do more than chirp the tires with all this HP, I told her if I wanted it to I could make her scream, I also told her that that costs money. She is restoring her dads 1973 Corvette Stingray and it will have Nitrous, yes Nitrous. Not my idea by the way. I told here she could burn the tires up all she wants when its done, but to be prepared to replace them when they are done.

Check here for the restore thread.

Nothing like the smell of burned rubber in the morning. Smells like, Victory.

Good times Eric, good times my friend. I will say good call on handing the keys to the wife when drinking. Glad she got to feel, what you feel all the time and why the grin has not gone away from your face, since getting the Silver Steel Beast.
