I need to replace my fronts, which are the 245's, but I am going to go with 255's so that rotation will ease the rate of going through these things.
They are cupping badly, and I have fabric showing mainly on the right front.....
The car does not pull, and pressures are all fine.
Anyway, to my question.
What brand.... I would choose comfort and ride quality over performance...
Also, I have looked locally and cannot get cheaper than 190.00 each on the Toyo proxes (uninstalled), and unfortunately the Avon Tech is only in the 245's.
Where can I get the tires at a reasonable price, where do I get them force balanced. Houston is 2 hours from me, and Corpus Christi is 1.5 hours. There is nothing here in town except Discount tire, Firestone, Sam's, Sears, and Goodyear.
Thanks guys, I was wondering about ordering them online and having the work done locally.... Never ordered anything like that to be shipped... at least for my car.
I guess I should get used to it, if I plan on mods as well.

Hey man i always look for hours on hours for the best deals on the net then i take it to my local American tire or Tire Rack ya know that chain, and they beat the price by $10 bucks a tire.
That may not seem like a lot but let's say some Pirelli's(295/30/22) like the ones my navi had retailed for $315......well i searched for the lowest price i could possibly find which was about $220! Took in a print-out of the tires and price and WALA! All four tires for $210!
I recently bought the awesome Toyo Proxes 4 275/40/20 with no problems whatsoever and i found the cheapest price!
The more I read, the less enthusiastic I am about the Goodyear F1's. I still say they are good performers, but they certainly don't last long, they make alot of noise, they seem to be tough to get a good balance by so many people reporting vibration at various speeds - especially 80 mph - and the tread separates from the rest of the tire when they get old...as reported by a couple members now. All this and they are only as much as two years old on our cars. Hopefully some other manufacturers step up in the next year and offer something for a reasonable price.

come on guys..... I really cant drive this thing til I get new front tires.
18000 miles was all she wrote for the tires.
the quotes I get from here in town are about 600.00 for 2 tires, mounted and balanced.
I order 2 tires from tirerack for $206 each and had them mounted and balanced for $20 each. Oh yeah regular shipping was $20 ( I had mine overnighted). Hope this helps
I used tires-easy.com - the home of low tire prices for cars, 4x4's and vans and got Toyo Proxes for 155 each.. They are on the west coast and I got them in MD in 3 business days.. I am happy and the ride is so much better.. I have only had them on the car for one week but what can I say, noticable improvement..
