First and foremost, I'd like to thank everybody for their great posts, and all of the valuable information I've found on here. I've been lurking for awhile, now that I've decided to take the plunge for it, I wanted to register to aska question and put this out here, maybe somebody can help.
I've been to all of the largest DCX dealers in the Phoenix valley (Airpark, Luke, Moore, Grubbs) trying to order an SRT-8, and I'm having no luck. I'm not sure if it's because of this location, but none of the dealers seem to even want to consider selling one for sticker (MSRP). They give me the whole spill about the 300Cs getting markups, on backorder, and getting 5k markups (so they assume the SRT should get an even larger one). Pretty much all of the dealers I talked to wanted 10k addendum on the SRT, one dealer said they could do 5k. So I'm pretty much at a loss, I just don't understand why a dealer feels the need to make 10-15K on one sale. I don't mind paying MSRP at all, and it's not like I'm demanding first serve either, I told them all that this summer would be fine, doesn't seem to matter.
So basically I'm trying to find a dealer in the southwest (AZ, southern CA, UT, NV, NM or anywhere within reason of Phoenix) who will sell me a loaded silver SRT-8 for sticker. I'm gonna keep plugging, cuz I'm in love with this car, and any opinions or help would be appreciated. If I could find the deal in writing, I'd sign the line right now
I understand what your saying Joe, that's what I told one of the salesmen this morning, it's all about supply and demand. I guess I can understand a dealer wanting to make every single dollar they can, it is a business. I guess I'm just old-school, I just can't bring myself to pay 55K for something with an invoice of ~39K lol.
Rebel, Just contact a smaller dealership in an out of the way place. The smaller the better. You can fly there and drive home or they will deliver the car to you. I think ElDorado in Mckinney, TX would do it for sticker possibly or there are alot of small dealers in OKLAHOMA.

Thanks, I actually just contacted ELDorado lol. They seemed very reasonable and willing to talk on it. Sales Manager is supposed to get back with me, they stated they are selling the Cs for sticker, so maybe I'll get lucky.
Thanks again!

Although I have not dealt with them, others (including the Dodge Club) have. There is lots of web info if you Google them.
Apparently they are an invoice cost plus $xxx type of dealership and base their profit on volume sales. I hope they have an SRT8 at a price you can accept.
When you pick up the car they will pick you up at Spokane WA and transport you the 80 miles to the dealership. Then you complete the deal and drive away. Factor in the cost of flight: Phoenix to Spokane and gas to return.
Let us know the results of your dealer search if you complete the deal.
Well after emailing between 30-40 fleet managers in the southwest, I got two calls tonight. One from a dealer about 700 miles from me, wanted a refundable 500 deposit for a loaded srt for about 44K. The other was 1000 miles away, wanted 1k NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, and would sell it for sticker. I'm gonna go with the one 700 miles away, he said he would give me a contract stating the depo was refundable, and it would have the price of the car on it, with my right of refusal on it. Can't argue with that, so I shouldn't have to worry about it getting swiped from under me.
Needless to say.....I'm bout to EXPLODE!!!!
They are out there, just gotta find the right dealer, with allocations, and willing to deal a bit.
There are more dealerships than SRT-8s. Don't waste your time with small dealerships, as they're the LEAST likely to actually get one, and what good is an MSRP deal on a car that doesn't exist?
Deposits are refundable, I believe in every state west of the Mississippi.
Don't waste your time placing an order now, wait until ordering opens for '06s, that way you'll get a real price, and a real VON.
Once again, I'll post when you can order 2006s.
And, profit is the only reason to be in business, otherwise you're a "non-profit", i.e. charity.
Good luck,
RT
What's wrong with you folks! Their is no way I will ever think of paying anything other than MSRP on a Chrysler product. After the hype is over with, (just like with the CTS-V ) all you will have is just a regular automobile. I don't know about your state, but up in Michigan 300c are at least 10 to 15 per chrysler dealership. I would buy a e55 amg for 70,000 before I buy a 300 SRT 8. When your talking about a 50,000 vehicle, a lot more fun, better built, better resale value cars( In the long run) come to mind. Just like those people who paid 10,000 dollars over MSRP for A PT cruiser who now can't stand chrysler because the car is worth 1/4 of MSRP after 2 years. History will repeat again. Just be a smart shopper!!!!!
What about the CTS-V? Dealerships were trying to charge 5,000 over invoice and no employee pricing, now you can find used copies 10,000 under invoice on ebay and rebates and employee have been added to move the 05 units already. The market for high horspower american sedans are not that high in demand until the demons of quality can be addressed long term. To address german quality, I guess that's why now chrysler emplyees(myself) now get mercedes discounts on s600 V12 sedans! Their not the bench mark they used to be. Before we couldn't step foot in a merecedes benz dealership.
