just wondering if i have to run 91 octane or not in my srt8,or if it's ok with regular?
It's designed for, and Chrysler recommends, premium fuel of at least 91 octane; in a pinch you could run midgrade or even regular but don't do it as a rule. If that's all you can get drive her easy until you get some premium in there.
If you want to run regular 'cuz it's cheaper, think it through. What's the price difference? .10 cents? ..... 15cents even? if you drive 12,000 miles a year and average 15 MPG you will save TEN DOLLARS A MONTH by running cheaper gas. Do you really want to risk your $45,000 car's high performance engine for ten bucks a month?
Let’s just put it this way. I was running fairly low last week for some odd reason and stopped by a local station for a refresher. To my dismay they were out of Premium….wtf is up with that like everyone and their mother is driving Premium cars. So I have to drive to another station to get the Premium while worrying about running out. I wasn’t going to let a drop of non-Premium gas touch her tender lips. Was I nuts? Perhaps but I don’t care. When it comes to oil and gas I follow what the “good book” says. End of story.

Welcome to the forums! I say run with what's recommended. I wouldn't take a chance with lower fuel with an SRT8. I'd take care of that baby! I'm sure you will.

Exactly the right sentiments!! Mine just loves the taste of 98, she lets me know, by kicking up her heels!!

Welcome to the forum. Only use 91 octane or higher in your SRT8. The knock sensors will protect the engine if you use lower rated fuel, but you definitely do not want to do this. Your performance will be impacted as well if you use lower grade fuel. For example, if you floor it, the engine will knock, and the computer will force a premature upshift.
