What a day it was.......
I can tell you it was a morning filled with nerves and fear... lol The only thing going through my mind was don't screw up and don't snap a halfshaft.... Ugh.
Got the new DR's mounted and Hals stock rims put up front (DR's are 295's not 305's)
1st run: Against Meister and his very fast 5.7 300.
12.25@118.0 60' 1.93
Ok, I am running with the stock TCM, a very bad DR warm up and could only get to stall 1000.......... Man with everything going through my head, watching Meister quickly getting staged, I had no time to stall any higher. haha
Fairly decent launch as I only spun the DR's for a moment. Caught Meister just before the 1/8 and flew by him.... Meister ran a
13.14@107.0 60' 2.05
2nd run:
YUK!!!!!!!
13.00@112.38 60' 2.22
Ok, I did not get a good warm up on the DR's for three reasons, 1) started wheel hopping, 2) guy who mans the waterbox did not add water/bleach, 3) drive scared of snapping a halfshaft. lol
I also wanted to try a different approach going down the track. Hit the 1-2 rev limiter, once I hit 3rd (I was in "D") I hit the shifter to allow me to manually shift (the 295's are a short tire and caused me to short shift into 4th gear about 150 feet from the 1/4 marker during the first run) and hold the gear in 3rd. Well, once a slapped the shifter it immediately took me down to second (not 3rd) and once recovered the 2-3 shift bounced off the rev limiter AGAIN.... lol Man, what a racket that made. lol The audience thought Ihad the ESP on... lol Nope, just driver error... haha Oh well, now I know what NOT to do. hehe
3rd run: 1bad4dr vs Arizona Speed and Marine S/C'd Charger R/T (
14.73@97.70 60' 2.50)
This is also my best run of the day.
12.19@119.5 60' 1.90
Ok, I had just witnessed HalV48 snap yet another halfshaft and my nerves are about shot.
Hal allowed me to run his much bigger DR's for the final two runs. Wow, what an improvement. No short shifting. Woo Hoo.
GS Motorsports Stage II TCM Flash now installed. I must say that this made a HUGE difference in my shifts. No more bogging. Woot! Thanks Scott.
I actually got to do a great warm up on the DR's (waterbox guy still NOT adding water/bleach), but am very nervous in breaking my halfshaft. Didn't need two broke LXers at the same track. Besides, I told Hal I would tow his sled back home in my trailer. Not really wanting to leave my sled at the track unsupervised. lol
It was ALL go on this one. The ASM Charger didn't stand a chance whatsoever.
4th run:
12.75@119.08 60' 2.23
Well, lets say that the waterbox guy needs to find a new career. HE SUCKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!
I spun out of the hole, and through 1, 2, and 3rd gears.......... WTF? lol
All in all it was a great day. Wish the DA level stayed closer to the 1250' mark as it was early in the morning. Not sure what the exact DA was, but HalV48 and I agree'd it would be between 2500 - 3000 feet....
I am very happy with the performance of the beast and know that low 11's are much in the cards for her once the driver relearns how to drive her.
I will try and get videos up sometime this week.
