The owners car was an 06. I'm not sure if it had the flash or not.
My car is an 07, I'm assuming that my car already has the flash.

Perhaps the owner's tires were more worn, or were inflated differently. The adaptive is virtually instant. Hammer the throttle, and it will hold low gear longer when letting off to maintain engine drag before upshifting. Hammer it, then hit the brakes, and it will hold low gear to assist in braking. etc, etc.

Next accelerate slowly and let off the throttle - the car should coast in a high gear rather than downshifting or holding a low gear.

Yep! Is is instant. I think I'm just being alittle impatient.
I just knocked off a 5.04 0-60 time, in Drive, ESP off. It was on my second run. I guess it took the first run to get the adaptives up.

The best I could do with ESP on was a 5.45.

I've read so many different techniques on the forum, with people getting in the 4 second range

Anyone out there that can tell me what works best for them??

I have never had my car spin during the 1-2 shift. Wet, dry, nothing. I thought it was an intentional design, so as to limit the manufacturer's liability. A customer of mine has a GTO (he's a customer, I can't even tell him that I would beat him in a drag race) and he swears that he spins going into 2nd gear even at low as 75% throttle. It may be the redneck in me (there's a lot of it, GA born and GA bred), but I would love to be able to chirp the tires a bit at high throttle inputs. I know the transmission is able produce the line pressures necessary, and combined with the weight of the vechicle, a little wheelsspin at gear change has to be easy. They just dont want us to. Makes me sad. The dirt road driving four wheeler racing fella in me cant stand it. I bet I would win the SRT-8 "homestead proximity to a chickenhouse" award.

I'll take that bet. 60 feet from lot line to neighbor's chicken coop - complete with good morning crowing Rooster (and a huge goose thrown in for good measure).

yep

I have had rare instances of second gear wheelspin. Has to be chilly out, and it requires a perfect autostick into second. I also have a string of 4's for 0-60. Practice your launch!

Virtually any of our twelve second stock or near stock cars are running 0-60 in the 4's.
