Poll

Is anyone getting second gear wheelspin in their stock SRT-8's in drive or in autostick??

The car I drove at the dealership got a chirp going into second while in drive everytime I mashed it.

Want to know what everyone else has experienced.

Was it set with the ESP all the way off, or just traction control off? Guess I'll have to try sometime.

For me with just the traction control off(this morning on the way to work actually ), I lose traction somewhere around 5-5.3k RPMs at the top if first and it shifts into 2nd at about redline...bucking a little to the left which I'm assuming happens because of the traction after the shift. It did then grab in 2nd and continue blastoff after the sideways buck. It was 30 degrees with the F1's...they were warm from coming off the interstate, but the pavement was cool. I don't know if this qualifies or not.

By the way, we want lots of pics of that Steel Blue.

The ESP was on, didn't see the skidmark light.
That car was a freak, or not stock. It was the owners car.

I'll post some pictures as soon as I get her detailed.

Well if the traction control was on, I can't believe it would do that. Maybe he has mods, and maybe a chip that overrides the traction control and ESP functions.

Could be older tires too, remember checking them? Don't know, yo gotta ask now thatyou brought it up. You gotta get us some pictures of that Steel Blue beauty? I can't remember if anyone has ever put up some good Steel Blue pics other than HEEMEE.

Wheelspin and a "chirp" are completely different. I loose traction in first gear and as soon as the car shifts, it bogs for a second and gets traction. The only time I can get spin through second gear is when it's wet or raining. Sometimes depending on road conditions I can break em loose in second gear(autostick), by rolling on the throttle very quickly. But for the most part second gear just doesn't have enough HP to spin the tires on dry, warm road.
