i've had incredibly lousy FM reception since the day i test drove the vehicle. since i mainly listen to either my ipod or sirius, it's a non-issue to me. however, my wife's car (a pt cruiser) can pick up many stations clear as day that my SRT8 can only pick up barely or not at all. after reading about so many other people with the same complaints repeatedly taking their cars in to the dealer and then getting them back with no change, well i just wrote it off as crappy design.

i only have two complaints about this car. the FM thing, which is virtually a non-issue for me is the first. the second is the fact that the audio input on rear DVD that i run my iPod through shuts itself off between each song (saying there is no input because there is no music playing), and takes a good 10 seconds to turn itself on again once the next song starts. so i miss the first 10 seconds of every song! incredibly annoying and HORRIBLE for trying to listen to music! (ps is there perhaps a setting on my ipod to keep data flowing over the connection or something? maybe if i put a dvd in the player it wouldn't shut down? argg)

FM Reception

My car has been at the dealer for about 2 weeks. They said they were on the phone with star service, and replaced about everything. They had the entire interior and part of the dash out of the car. I have no tint, no anything not stock. I rarely listen to FM, but when I want to I would like it to come in like any other normal car. My 05 300C AWD worked fine. Side by side the SRT-8 gets about 5% of what the AWD gets for stations. They are now giving my car back and have another part on order. I am not too confident that they will solve this problem, and will let you know if they do.

Truly interesting, thanks for the update. With all due respect to other members who claimed that tint was indeed the issue, I just never bought it it makes zero technical sense to me

please keep us posted

Well my experience is that after my metallic tint, the reception got worse.
It was fine before I got my tint so partially I am blaming the tint that attributed the loss of the reception, tho I guess I could go to the dealership to find out what they can do or see if there could be other issues why.

By the way didn't you have another nick? I remember that Avatar for another nick who was also very in your face truth telling persona! hehe

My C was fine, my SRT is horrible for FM reception. Only difference was my C was non-nav where my SRT has the nav. I listen to Sirius because the FM is so poor.
