My fan has never turned on....

Temps have gotten as hi as 222...maybe 224 and my fans have never kicked on. Is this normal? Anything I should check?

Also, my temp needle usually sits a shade above or right at the 200 mark, but the digital readout can be from 180-220 and there will be no change in where the needle sits. Which is more accurate?

Thanks.

Remember - there are two different temps. Oil temp, and coolant temp. Oil temp will run high, and is seen in the normal digital guage as you page through. Coolant temp is found in the EVIC screens. That temp should run up to about 216 before the fans turn on. Oil temp will easily run in the 230's.

So far there are no issues with overheating. The reported numbers seem to alarm a number of people, but you are fine.

I thought when you went through the digital stuff on the dash it was oil pressure, then water temp....is that not right? I didn't think there was an oil temp

Also, I have not installed the thermostat yet....hopefully today.

I feel like an idiot...after I typed this I checked while driving the car and it is definitely oil temp that I was thinking was water temp.

Can you explain the evic mode or how to see your water temp?

Thanks!
