Run with a 07 Jaguar XK Vert

I had a pretty fun contest with a brand new XK convertible. It started when the driver pulled up beside me on the open highway, looked over twice, and then floored it. Me being a sucker, I plowed right in behind him, sucked in quick to his bumper, and overtook him with a move NASCAR fans would recognize. By 140 he was several cars behind and not gaining so I backed off. We did it again with me leading the chase but he could never make up the margin I gained on the break and then I just kept pulling. We both ended up exiting at the same highway and tried to catch two lights for a dig race but to no avail. We were able to talk and surprisingly the driver told me he had a car just like mine at home and was happy that his wife's new car could not beat it. LOL! I told him about the site so hopefully he'll join.

I'm not trying to pat myself on the back for this one. Let's face it, it's underpowered even at 3,600 lbs. It was just a fun run.

Sounds like a good time and how cool was that when he said he had a SRT8 at home! I guess it was cool for him to see how the car performed from the losing end of the deal.
Thanks for sharing your fun time!

I had an almost identical experience with an XK. Look out for the XKR with the SC motor. My sister-in-law has one of those, I drove it and it is FAST. Probably a drivers race with our cars if stock.

Ya.....Everyone has an SRT8 just like us at home.

Sorry. I just get a kick out of that. That's what some guy's say when I have my old Nova at a cruise night. I tell them to go home and get it!

Sounds like fun!

The guy you raced is kinda like me. When I drive the wifes car (M6 C5 Corvette) I go looking to find an SRT8 to run, and when I drive the SRT8 I go looking for a C5 Corvette to run It's kinda funny when I think about it!

down goes a Jag

Underpowered or not, happy you cleaned his clock. Most Jag owners would think that they can beat a Chrysler 300, and sure that they could beet some models of the 300. So way to put it on him, bro, he needed that lesson.
As far as him owning one sitting in his garage..... hmmmm... I wonder?!

The SC XJR with 390 ponies is not fast at all. A SRT will leave them fast.
