autostick or drive?

I did some searches and couldn't find the answer I was looking for...sorry it it's repetitive?

I know what the autostick feature is, but when is it best used? I would assume under normal driving conditions you leave your car in D and the autostick is used more for if you're at a light about to race someone? Am I correct here? I guess that leads to my next question. If I am at a light about to have a race what does the majority of members do i.e. autostick or D?

In my experience (with the TCM TSB flash done), it shifts much more aggressively in autostick mode. With the TSB done, it will upshift when you hit redline, but it waits longer than in auto mode, and the shifts are quicker and harder.

I use autostick when I want to really haul some a$$, whether in a race or just because. If I'm just toolin' around, I use auto.

I’ve read that some members like the autostick for burnouts only and leave it in D the rest of the time. I rarely use the autostick unless I want to really jump on someone at a light……not that I do that sort of thing.

Are you referring to the -/+ option underneath the "D" ???

Ok..so if I understand you..you would put it in autostick mode (not in D) and let it autoshift itself? Therefore you would not manually upshift it yourself?

Yes, I use it for quick spurts at the light LMAO. I tend to use it when stopping also. Is that something I should look more into? Does it hurt any if all, tranny, driveshaft, cam...?
