Finally put the car on our dyno

Hey guys,
Fianlly had a chance to put the car on our dyno. ran the car in 4th and hit the max speed limiter on our dyno (thats what caused the big spike at the end of the graph), then ran the car in 3rd.

Put the Airade CAI on, reran the car in fourth and again in third. I have to say, i am very pleased with the results.

Sorry about the crappy pics, just wanted to get this stuff posted while UI had a free minute.

I'm curious if you reset the ECU prior to the FIRST run as well...

i hadnt seen a dyno plot for our cars, its nice to see the smooth arcing torque curve, no weird peaks or valleys. seems like gains across the board too. was the CAI the only mod?

No, didn't reset the computer prior to any of the runs. Yes, the CAI was the only mod. Car never left the dyno. The A/F readings were actually pretty damn good for a factory tune.

My partner and I are curious as to how much of a gain we'll be able to get once SCT or HP Tuners releases the tunging software. There is a little room for tweaking on the A/F, but we'll play around with timing and see if anything is left there.

Tha exhaust is noticably louder with the addition of the CAI, not sure if I want to replace the stock exhaust now or not. This is supposed to be my cruiser, not my race car. LOL

Anyway, once we get the tuning software and play around I will post the results.

This is a great forum and I appreciate all of the feedback and info everyone has provided to all of my questions.

I guess my point is that i am suspecting that part of the gains can be attributed to the cleared adaptive throttle, that's why i wondered if you had cleared the ECU or pulled fuse 11 or anything prior to the bone stock reading.

I don't think the exhaust is any louder with the intake, at least on mine it's not but i do hear a significant sound now coming from under the hood that used to be muffled, i'm pretty sure that's not the exhaust though... My corsa goes on as soon as i return home.

Well, as I stated the computer was not reset, so there was not a gain as a result of "adaptive learning". Honestly, we have been dynoing cars everyday for the last 5 years and most V8 CAI's only show a 10-15 rwhp gain unless they are s/c, so I was very surprised to see the gains the car made. Most notably, the top of third gear and in the middle.

The exhaust note changed significantly after the install, several guys in the shop made a comment about it, but you are correct in that it is clearly louder in the drivers compartment from the front.

Another note, the Dyno Dynamics software does NOT average like the dynojet does, so the graph may look a little more jagged than most are used to seeing.

What was your a/f ratio? I had mine dyno'd with the mopar cai and the deleted suitcase. My a/f was averaging low 12, which to me looks horrible. I've heard some comments that tweaking with the exhaust screws up the computer.

Also, what rumors or so do you know about hp or others coming out with software/tuners for these??
