Extended Warrenty?

Hi!

I just purchased my SRT and have a year left on the warrenty.
I have the option to upgrade the warrenty for 2 years additional after the original warrenty expires.
The cost would be $2,600 for the warrenty extension.
So, I am just wondering if I should extend the
warrenty, or would that be money wasted.

In all my previous cars, I don't believe I had ever needed to
use a warrenty, and if I did , the cost of the repair would have been minimal anyways ,,
versus the cost to buy the warrenty. A warrenty does offer piece of mind..however, it is pretty expensive.

Thoughts?
Has anybody had to use their warrenty for service.?

I believe there is alot of dealer markup on those extended warranties - you are talking about a Chrysler Maxcare right? I'm coming up on 12,000 miles and thinking about getting one, I know there are names listed of people who will sell them below the list prices. I was meaning to search this topic one of these days.

That is way too much for an extended warranty! Check with Wykoff Chrysler or any number of others you can find via Google, etc. Should be well under $2000 if you ask me.

Someone on these boards recommended :

Kevin Wittrock
Wittrock Motor Company
Phone: 712-792-9234 x20

for the extended warranty. His price was substantially lower than the same Maximum Care ($0 deduct) that my Chrysler dealership was offering.

Ditto. Pricing for a 7/100K warranty is more in line with that price quote. That is not a good price for such a short term.

Let us know what you find.

I purchased my extended warranty through chrysler when I bought the car new.

72 Months or 60k Miles for $1050.00... also Including the chrysler rebate at the time they took 5k off sticker price, this was is April 2006. I only put arounf 8k miles a year on my cars so the warranty will be good for 6 years in my case.
