Eliminating ESP does nothing for SRT8's?

I asked a vendor (not saying who) about an alternative way to eliminate ESP/tq management. He responded with this:

"If you have an SRT, then No ESP will do nothing for you; the car has the full disable by pressing the button for 7 seconds. If you have an RT, then holding the button for a long time does nothing to turn ESP totally off. Adding NoESP will kill ESP for those cars."

Is this right? Will things like the $5 esp mod do nothing for us?

It will do nothing in the way of your 0-60 time...In fact, it will go down because you'll be roasting your tires the whole time.

Seriously though, what do you want it to do? I haven't done it yet, but I'm looking forward to the torque management removal for crisper shifts hopefully.

I respectfully disagree. Too many threads from respectable sources stating that a factory SRT8 with the ESP held for 7 seconds only unleashes about 80% of the potential.

Noesp gave me an noesp mod a while ago to experiment with on my srt8, I could not feel any difference, the only thing that I think was different was yaw control but I didn't have a good environment to test high speed big corners. I took it to the track as well and did about 15 ¼ miles runs and could not feel any difference. I do not doubt that holding the esp button for 7 seconds leaves some esp intact but for most people the small amount doesn’t matter. I also have a GSM no esp/fan mod lying in my garage that I bought with the understanding that it would increase shift firmness and then I got stuck with it. Lastly, I did have the 1-2 shift hesitation TSB which firmed up shifts a little bit and may have made any effects to shifts by the esp delete mods less noticeable.
