First oil change

So yeah, complete utter piss me off.

I have spent so much time trying to get that damn oil filter off.

Why on gods earth is it sooooooo tight? Did the dealer benefit by buying a machine to torque it down 1 billion pounds? To hell if I have the dealer change my oil...

I refuse to punch a hole in the filter and then take a screw driver and take it off that way. I'm determined to get it off.... I've been at the oil filter for about 30 mins now. I'm taking a break and drinking another beer. Before all is said and done, I might end up drunk.

Bleh, I still have to work my 5 days a week anyhow

I had yesturday off and today off. Then i work Wed - Sun

I was able to get one hand on it, my right hand since I'm right handed, and then only a few fingers from my left for more leverage (mind you I'm barely able to fit under the car because i'm waiting for my griot's garage ramps) and I still can't get it to budge...

They sell those plastic caps that fit over the end of the filter for a couple of bucks and then a ratchet goes into that.

I have an oil filter pliers, I have the stupid cap that fits over the oil filter and it's made out of metal...

I can't get it loose at all. It's seriously stuck. I have NEVER seen an oil filter stuck like this.

I have to be somewhere so I just left the oil filter on there and filled it up with new oil for now.

Oh well, I'll take it somewhere to get done. I'm not messing with it anymore.

Oh and the sad part... I always put 1 qt. oil in less when re filling the oil. Then I let it sit and run it for a few seconds. Shut it off, then run it again for a minute.

And if I stick any more oil into this thing, it's going to over fill. I know it says 7 qt's but I don't know if that's neccessary at this point. So I stuck an extra qt. of oil in the trunk so where ever I end up tonight I'll check it when I get there.

haha, trust me, I must of thought to myself left loosey righty tighty about 30 times and even took my right hand in mid air and performed the manuveur itself...

I've done some research on different 300c lx and whatever forums and ran across a few people with the same problem. What a nightmare this has been. My arm is all beat to hell trying to get both arms and hands in there to get a good grip with no success.

Another over tight oil filter thread? Those robots must be really having a good laugh at everyone trying to get them off. I went through that with another couple of cars I owned previously. So with this car I took it in for the first oil change to let them man handle the filter. Sorry you're having such trouble
