Could an early build 07 need the shift TSB?

everything i am reading says this is is for 05-06s only, which is fine, i assume that means my TCM has the updated shift pattern. i assume i could try this by putting it in first, hitting the gas, and seeing if it shifts, but im a little apprehensive to do that just in case it DOESNT shift.

the only reason i ask is because my cars build date is 08/06, and it has a lot of the things most 07s dont, like headlight washers, staggered tires, that box thing on the intake. so it leads me to believe that if some parts are from 06 models, why not the TCM?

thanks for the help guys.

I have about as early build 07 as possible (it is truly one of the first built for the model year as I ordered on the 1st day and delivered to the dealer before anyone on here I think) and I have had no issues with the 1-2 shift (knock on wood). I say hammer away and enjoy! Especially the 0-60 counter!

You will be fine either way testing it out.

One of two things will happen.

You will hit the rev limiter and the car will not shift to 2nd on its own, while in Auto stick.
(that means you do not have the 1-2 shift TSB performed)

or have had the 1-2 hesitation TSB performed, pre 07 models.

Take her up there and see. Hammer down in first and let her wind out. Worst case scenario is it doesn't shift and just hits rev limiter, which is harmless as far as i know. Thats why it's there, to keep from hurting anything. If you have the new TCM programming... it will shift without flaw.

NOW i do have a shifting issue with my 8/06 build 07 CSRT8, but only on the 2-3 shift. If you do a search you should come up with some info on it. Mine only does it every now and then. It will wind up and right before it shifts it sounds like it hits the rev limiter 2 or 3 times then shifts.

I agree with Happy, knock down some 0-60 times and report back!!

All '07 SRT8's have the new code from the factory. You do not have the 1-2 shift problem.

In additon to the 0-60 indicator, there is also a top speed indicator. Go to the digital speedo and press the ODO reset button until you get to TRIP B, then the top speed indicator will show.

thanks for the help guys, i DO in fact have the new code, it shifts at redline. it really feels like the car comes alive like this. putting it into first and hitting the gas (well, rolling onto the gas, so i actually move forward) puts a smile on my face like im a grinning idiot. thanks for the help again!
