The difference between 07 and 06 tranny shifts

Hey Everyone,

As some of you know I have 2 srt's in the family (06 300c srt8 and a 07 charger srt8). Last night I left the 300 with the girlfriend and took the charger. I took it for a very spirited drive and the transmision shift s are a million times better than the 300. I put it in 'manual' mode and let her go. Got it up to 140 and was very impressed with the shifts. I was riding gears at all speeds and flooring it to see how it shifts. In comparison to the 300 the transmission ****s are so much faster and with out any hesitation, even the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts are quicker. Downshifts to are not as jerky and response much faster too. The only downside is it won't hold 1st gear when trying to burn rubber. It will throw the car into to 2nd gear and bog.

I think I will be getting the flash very soon. The goods out weigh the bad so now it's time to see which service manager I can bribe to look past the zex box under my hood.l

Sounds nice Will......I always thought ours were sluggish out of the hole . I did a track experience event and I thought the charger shifted faster and the jeep was an animal out of the gate . Interesting .....very interesting . I have the B&G flash and the heat TCM flash......so no dealer flashing for me . Keep us posted and clean that boiler .... ........when it's dirty... .

The charger at the track experience was a little slower on shifts than mine (maybe because it was a early 06 build). But the updated flash (standard on 07's) is a big difference in comparison.

Let me give garden city chrysler a call now and see how much will they finance me for to do the flash...lol... . Freaking rip offs...but let me stay on track here...I will give east hills a call. I heard they are pretty good about 'mods'. Plus we just spent 40k on a car their.

Now about boiler...no comment ....

I don't see why the zex box would have anything to do with doing a shift TSB honestly... having nitrous doesn't void every aspect of your warranty, particularly electronics....

I think the concern is about what a nitrous setup would do to the rest of your warranty.

Will - you haven't done the tranny TSB yet? Totally worth it, on burnouts you just have to back off the throttle around redline and it stays in gear - no big deal.

Did you have it done before or after your nitrous install?

After the nitrous I had it done. I told him ahead of time I was coming in and he said it was cool. Just be honest and up front about it. They know about my mods.
