Anyone race a SRT-6?

So, I am registered on the crossfire.org site because I'm looking to buy one. There are some pretty arrogant owners! One of the threads is about how a couple owners spanked SRT-8's and they have nothing on the Crossfire! One guy is bragging about beating an '02 Z06.

Has anyone raced a SRT-6? I know the cars are quick, but at higher speeds and 1/4, I don't think it could take a SRT-8.

I've never raced one as they are quite rare...but it was probably my favorite car to drive at the SRT experience...and I can tell you that I had no trouble keeping up with the lead 300SRT even at speeds approaching 115.
I think it is a close race straight line, throw in curves and the advantage probably goes to the SRT-6. It is a nice machine.

It was fun to drive through the autocross module at the SRTTE, but straight line acceleration goes hands down to the SRT-8s. This is stock vs. stock of course.

Bottom line:

It's a close race but the SRT-6 is faster.

At the SRT experience the SRT-6 is always quickest around the track and always quickest 0-60.

I think I want one myself. I wonder kind of mods are available in the way of pulley and exhaust. You could conceivably add considerably more power relatively cheaply.

Well, I ran a srt6 on the highway a pulled from him like he was not moving. They have no shot against a srt8 in the straights. On the road coarse its a no brainer...srt6 hands down will be the champ, but in the straight line they have no shot what so ever....PERIOD!!!!!

Even at the track experience I ran against it in the 1/8 mile and pulled a little with a charger srt8. I could only imagine in the 1/4...

Haywood, if any of the srt6 owners are in the nyc tell them I would run them with my charger and have it recorded! Matter of fact let me join their forum...brb

I've been to 2 SRT Track experiences and had many runs in an SRT-6 and SRT-8, the SRT-6 had the best times hands down between the 2. (the GC had the best overall.)

I can't speak to topend but I do know the SRT-6 had no problem topping at 125MPH on the back and the SRT-8 was about even with that.

I'm still not surprised though that you were able to take one on the highway. The 6.1 torque is impressive of course.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree based on both of our experiences.

If I race one on the highway I hope I beat him. 0-60 would be tough though.

Go for it! I'm thinking you'll find a contender. Just make sure you do a race from a dead stop. .... and then one from a roll on the highway.
