As is my case. My January 5th Order was changed from an '05 to an '06 by DCX. My build sheet included all my options and an MSRP. I put down 1k. I have spoken several times to my dealerships owner and he assures me that the MSRP without the Gas Guzzler Tax will be honored. JohnnyVig graciously forwarded an internal memo pointing out orders made before feb 5th would not be responsible for the GG tax. My Dealership confirmed that with the district rep and as far as Im concerned thats it until I find out otherwise. Now as far as ordering a new '06 model since the ordering closed for the '05, I assume for one an increase of $2100 for GGT. I also assume a price increase on options.

Nope. Only heard what you said about the 1,500 increase. I spoke to the allocation manager at the dealership on Saturday and he had no firm numbers either. He only speculated that they may try a 5% increase but that wasn't based on anything concrete. I really hope they don't try to get more than 500-1,000 increase out of us.

I ordered my '06 on Feb.1 and they wrote up all the paperwork with all the options including sirius,nav.,srt1,srt2,kickers,added dvd video,and it came to $46585 plus tax!! I thought that was a pretty fair deal,with all the options and all!! They said they would honor it,and with my deposit and all,and they even put it in writing!!! I'm 1/2 happy,I JUST WANT MY CAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody have that internal memo about ordering before Feb.4,even if its a '06,that you don't have to pay GG tax?

I got the same response when I ordered mine last week. No pricing. When in the heck has anybody spent $45,000 + on something and really didn't know EXACTLY what it cost. This is one shady process!!

Call your dealer and read it to them, they received one on 2/4/04 and another one shortly thereafter so they should know what you are talking about. The one on 2/4 was sent from dealersystems@dcx and was sent at 7:05pm. It was signed Gary E. Dilts Sr. VP

In a e-mail dated Friday, February 4, 2005 we informed you of
additional pricing on the 300C SRT8 due to the gas guzzler tax
being imposed on DaimlerChrysler by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Bona fide sold orders obtained by you prior to February 4, 2005 will be
price protected. A sold order is defined as an order in which you have
a signed and dated retail buyer's order which details the agreed upon
selling price and is secured by a customer's deposit with receipts at
the time of order.

To assist in the price protection process we are asking that for every
sold order you have submitted prior to February 4, 2005, you provide to us:

1) a copy of the Retail Buyer's Order, AND

2) a copy of the Price Order Confirmation (POC) and/or the Advanced
Shipper that shows the Vehicle Order Number (VON) and the Customer's
Name and Address.

These items must be sent by February 21st to:

I ordered mine in febuary and got a firm price of $47,000 out the door in writing with a von and a vin. I did this by getting on the internet and contacting every dealer within 150 miles and finally got one who wanted to sell a car. I think the salesman is as excited about the car as I am. The salesmans name is Tony Kimbro and he works for Sandy Sansing Chrysler in Pensacola Florida. his e-mail address is www.tonykimbro@sandysansingchrysler.com and no he does'nt know when the car will be delivered either and yes I get a kickback for the referral.
