Exclamation SRT8 Owners - Check if you have TIREFIT

I'm just going through my manual & noticed page 226 refers to the TIREFIT tire repair kit. I was aware that there is no spare tire that comes with the vehicle, and was told by the dealer in the event of a flat, we were to call road side assistance.

The manual says this kit contains:

1. Air pump hose
2. Power plug & cable
3. Air pump switch
4. Pressure gauge
5. TIREFIT sealant bottle
6. TIREFIT sealant hose

This kit is supposed to be located on the left side of the trunk under the access panel. Mine is not there & I'm wondering if any of you who have taken delivery have noticed this as well. Perhaps it was an ommision just on my car.
Thanks

Rambit

Got it, and used it already (for my son's bike tire).

When you lift up the floor of the trunk, there's a large, gray, formed styrofoam piece. It has a large, empty space in the center. On the left, there's a self-contained unit. It was a lighter adapter cord wound up in it, and an air hose wound up in the bottom. One end of the unit, is actually a removable canister of fix-a-flat. There's an on-off button on the top to run the compressor.

Maybe it's one of those Canadian government things, kinda like the Satellite Radio restrictions...

Thanks jMatt:

Mine is definately not there. All there is, are two empty recesses in the styrofoam piece. My salesman has already reported it as missing the day I picked it up. Apparently they have only 24 hours to do this. He had no idea what the kit contained though. I sent him an e-mail listing the contents. Thanks for checking.

I recall seeing a post referring to that. The 6.1L comes with synthetic oil from the factory and has Mobile 1 on the filler cap. The manual recommends 0W-40 for both extremes of temperature. Schedual "B" recommends a change every 3000 miles (5000 km's). The capacity is 7 quarts (US) or 6.6 liters (Metric). I've been told the cost is well over $100 for an oil change. I have it as part of my extended warranty. Hope this helps. I'll also send you a PM to ensure you see this.

It would be interesting to see if this could be retrofitted to a C.

Mines got it. Very nice setup too. If I try it on my sons bike, will the tire explode after a few seconds? It might have the equivelant power of the SRT-8's 6.1

The pump has a built-in pressure guage. It filled a bike tire in about 10 seconds.
