Question about changing my color to Steel Gray

If I heard right there will be a Steel Gray color for 06. My issue is that I ordered my SRT8 on Feb 18th. At the time there was no option for SteelGray. So my questions are: Can I still change the color?
If I am able to, will it cause a delay in my delivery?
Keep in mind that I am #25 or so on a waiting list for a rapid selling based LARGE dealership. My salesperson told me, when I initially ordered the car, it would be approx July when I would see it.
Anyones opinion and/or suggestions would be great!!!!
Thanks ahead of time!!!!

It should be available in April/May. If you're looking to get the Kicker system that may push you back enough to request the new color.

IndyCoder
Acutally, per my build sheet, the 7 high perf Kicker Spkrs w/Subwoofer option was already added on Feb.18th when I ordered it.
So does that mean I might as well call my salesman and ask him to change the color? Is that the process I should go by??

thanks!!

Yes, up until the car goes into build status you can add or remove any option. I called my dealer when I heard about the rear DVD and had my build sheet changed. Thanks to this board and http://www.bramptonassembly.com I knew about the DVD before my new car sales manager knew about it (that’s kind of F***ed up).

I don’t get the feeling that the dealerships are getting the info as quick as they should. I keep finding that I go into the dealership and I know 10 times more than the sales people know. I don’t recall what it is that I got into it with a salesman about but he said A and I said NO it’s B and I went online and proved it was B.

I’d love to make it my full time job teaching these hack/want-a-be sales people how to do their jobs. Most of us on the forum know more about the product then the sale people know.

I’ve found this is true for appliances as well. I went out and bought a gold series Whirlpool frig and I found myself correcting the salesman while he gave me the pitch on the frig.

You been a great help IndyCoder!!! I'll call my salesguy today and ask to change the color. So do you know if the color addition to Steel Grey is official? I just read about it on this forum. I just want to be prepared for the salesguy. I always try to be on top of the current info so I wont get screwed by anyone. I guess allot of us has learned it safer to be anal about this stuff right??
Thanks!!

Its so funny I went into the dealership about making sure my GGT was taken care of. The sales manager insisted that NO!!!!! '05 models would be produced. I kindly told him roughly 250 would be, and I had seen several. He insisted the District Rep assured him NO!!! '05's. I mentioned I had spoken to members of the Brampton plant who gave me VIN's of '05 models already produced. He challenged me to come up with these VIN's. He said "you should not believe every fairytale you read on the internet". I went home e-mailed them to him along with links of all kinds of supporting facts. The subject line was "once opon a time in a land far far away". The body of the e-mail started " In a land far far away lived a bunch of canucks would loved to build cars. They where magical canucks who dispite those who don't believe they exsist, built over 200 beautiful 2005 Chrysler 300C SRT-8 Sedans."

He replied to my email simply "WHATEVER". I spoke to my salesperson a few days later he said everone at the office had a big belly laugh and the guy went off on a rant. I had to bring my durango in for service and the guy was standing in the lot. When I walked over towards him he yelled to the salesman here comes your funny boy. That guy needs to be on meds.

Steve,
I was actually quoting the Build sheet. It stated "Option RC5 = 7 High Perf Kicker Spkrs w/Subwoofer"

Can anyone w/an actual build sheet verify this for me? Thanks!!

also: Is the Steel Grey 100% comfirmed?

Regards,

John

RT4 stated earlier that Silver Steel color was not available for the SRT 8. It isn't called steel grey, it is silver steel. If anyone can confirm or deny the color choices, that would be great.
